People who'd prefer McGregor-Diaz want a show not a fight

Why is so hard to understand that people have moved to different cards against a different opponent PLENTY OF TIMES? New to the sport?

Will you name me one time a main event fighter has been pulled to fight as a main event in a earlier booked event?

Cerrone:
~ Good kicks
~ Just subbed 170er by takedown and top position (underrated guard game too)
~ Has outstanding luck with short notice fights
~ Just fought at WW
~ Not only size but big frame advantage

Diaz:
~ No kicks
~ Scrappy volume puncher with underwhelming finishing ability (plays right into a counter puncher)
~ Bottom game heavy jits
~ "Recently" lost to southpaw TKD style fighter
~ Has a nice current 3 round decision for conor to study and gameplan around
~ Will sell the fight 10x better than Cerrone could do in 2 weeks

UFC would be stupid to put in Cerrone over Diaz, not to mention the small chance that Cerrone cant cut all the weight.
Diaz is the "easier" fight on paper with more money to be made. Plus RDA finishing Cerrone is fresher on our minds then RDA wrecking Diaz.

In the off chance Cerrone/Diaz wins it will be much easier marketing Diaz the Cerrone, I know Diaz is iffy but Cerrone is literally useless for any big fight that isnt booked a few weeks in advanced.

Not true TS...if we only wanted a show we would be calling for CM Punk!

Belfort was moved from the main event of UFC 153 against Belcher to fight Jones at the main event of UFC 152.
Good point, but both the guys they were suppose to fight pulled out. Vitor was suppose to fight Belcher, but pulled out because of a spinal injury. Jones was suppose to have a rematch against Loyoto but Lyoto pulled out because he wasnt ready. Khabib and Tony are healthy and ready

Belfort as indicated above - and if I remember Edgar was going to face Lamas in a fight night main before replacing Koch to fight Aldo (before Aldo pulled out).

Any more brain busters you filthy casual?

The entire point was that cards are as fluid as the UFC wants them to be. You honestly think if the roles were reversed, and Connor had the chance to fight for a belt on short notice even if he was scheduled for a later date, that the UFC wouldn't pull the trigger?

You're on some Stockton weed if you don't think the UFC does this kinda shit all the time. Main card, under card, everything is subject to change.

Belcher pull-out after Belfort was moved-out of the card.

Q: What do you call a show in which the participants punch each other in the face until one gets KOed?
A: A fight.

Belfort was moved from the main event of UFC 153 against Belcher to fight Jones at the main event of UFC 152.

That event was a mess. Belford vs Belcher wasn't the original main event. If I remember correctly, it was:

Aldo vs Koch
then Aldo vs Edgar when Koch got injured
then Rampage vs Glover when Aldo got injured
then Vitor vs Belcher when Rampage got injured
then Silva vs Bonnar when Vitor was moved to fight Jones after Hendo got injured.

It does happen, but I can't remember it happening with a main event slot.

I don't know the specifics, but I can't imagine their FOX deal allows them to cancel main events last minute when neither fighter is injured, just to help out their PPV card. Seems like a conflict of interest.
