International Norwegian Marine Fuel Company Has Request to Stop Fueling US Navy Rejected by Defence Minister

Norway’s national budget includes the following:
  • Increasing development assistance to Palestine by NOK 280 million (US$26 million)
  • Increasing humanitarian assistance by NOK 300 million (US$27 million)
  • Increasing climate adaptation and food security funding by NOK 380 million (US$35 million)
None of which Trump is interested in financially supporting. Norway has also committed to increasing financial aid to Ukraine.

https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...pport-ukraine-prime-minister-says-2025-03-01/

“Norway's parliament late last year agreed to spend a total of 35 billion Norwegian crowns ($3.12 billion) on military and civilian support for Ukraine in 2025 and a total of 155 billion crowns in the years from 2023 to 2030.”

They aren’t demanding minerals or thank yous on live television either.

Yo, we gave 20+ million for Iraqi Sesame Street.

Lol, balding fat CEO tried to talk tough when he didn't even have a fixed contract. "We encourage all Europeans to follow our example", then their own defense minister said the guy's an idiot that nobody should pay attention to.

You're not in Europe, but yes, I agree, USA withdrawing in a clear manner is better than this mess.

Huh?

We have tons of military bases in Europe.

There are over three dozen US military bases and no fewer than 100,000 American troops in Europe at any given time along with an untold number of thermonuclear warheads to defend these cretins at great expense. There's an entire fucking DoD Unified Combatant Command in Europe. The Fuck.

Yeah, man, just blow it all up because it's no longer certain the US will supply infinity cash, intel, and weapons indefinitely to you crane and boots on the ground are completely out of the question. Supply your own bodies, and go talk to your leaders because they shot this little stunt down quick fast. I wonder why.

I have been watching lots and lots of European news shows on youtube today.

A common theme has been what will Europe do if the USA pulls back. One after another is saying that it will take many, many years and a ridiculous military budget for Europe to build up it's military and intelligence to a sufficient level to replace what the US currently provides. There was a whole lot of pants pissing going on. And I'm not just talking about newscasters. It was former cabinet, former ambassadors, former military etc...

Be careful what you ask for. You just may get it.

Ummm.... ^^^^^

The U.S. could not only save hundreds of billions of dollars a year closing those bases, but also bring back a shit ton of commerce to the U.S. by relocating our military throughout the U.S. It would be awesome to have some new bases built on the Canadian and Mexican borders as well as some new giant air bases throughout the corners of the U.S. We could easily afford all of that and still save $ if we close those Euro bases.

Sign a peace deal? Ukraine is in an impossible position where NATO refuses to let them join or put boots on the ground. It's been 3 years.

What deal? What's an acceptable deal to you? Surrendering your country over to invaders?
Putin needs to come to the table for the deal the world want's made. Would he sign it? Will he stand by his word? Can he make promises any better than Trump can?

Europe and Scandinavia has majority support Ukraine's NATO membership. It's Russia and US who are opposed to it. US is probably going to leave NATO.

Ukraine is on an ‘irreversible’ path to NATO. (But only after war with Russia ends)

The deal for Ukraine is they get to keep their sovereignty. I think Putin would sign a deal, probably not very favorable to Ukraine but it would stop the war and they could keep their sovereignty.

What Putin would do afterwards is all speculation. I think it would take him a few years to reload anyway so the West, namely Europe, would have time to build their defenses and prepare as well. There's also a plethora of things that could happen by chance that changes Russia's direction in war or politics.

The status quo is tiresome and a lost cause.
