People who are on their phones...EVERYWHERE!

Pretty sure my eyes have gone to shit staring at my iPhone the past 5 years

I think we want to constantly distract ourselves from our mortality, heart breaks, insignificance, and every other struggle...The smart phone is the perfect tool for this.

meh, who cares
the only time it worries me is when im out at night for a walk n see a girl alone focused on her phone, im scared it makes her an easy target for some weirdo n i dont want the boos to get hurt ):
prolly not good for students to be on their phones during class hours either

but other than that i don't see the problem

I read your post on my phone.

If I'm not here or texting my gf I'm not on my phone. And I usually only pull it out when I'm waiting for something, helps pass the time being here on sherdog you know.

I get what you're saying though, that's all I see too. Sad world.

It doesnt bother me. I would rather them be on their phone than trying to make small talk to me.

I dont want to tell you how my day is going asshole and I know what the weather is.

But what about traffic this morning?

What would people do if their phones were taken away for 48 hours

Well, a lot of people would be fucked for work.

I went 7 days while i was in aruba. It was fine. I was at a destination wedding though, so all the people I'd normally text were already with me.

People who sit near the front row of sports games on their phones make me laugh. A lot of money was spent for those seats, and these people instead spend their experience mindlessly facebooking or texting. They should have to forfeit their seats to me.

There's a name for these people, they're called GIRLS.

all young girls are glued to their phones like useless zombies who have to snap chat their loser lives away.

Sign of the times. People are getting more isolated and insular even with people all around. We're closer now than ever before, but also farther apart.

I have no idea what I used to do at work all day before I joined sherdog

It's an addiction, I also feel the urge to constantly check my fb, whatsapp etc for no reason at all, I try to do it as little as possible especially in social contexts though.
Sometimes I think about going back to some shitty basic phone but some of the smartphone features are very useful...

im reading this thread on my big ass phone :). crazy thing is I didn't own a cellphone until I was 19 and worked for cingular wireless.

in 2004 we had paper football tournaments I could flick one with my finger from across the room :)
