Now that someone survived the 1st RD against Ngannou and made him gas, Sherdoggers think decent wrestling and good fight IQ are all it takes to beat him.

"Stipe showed everyone the blueprint to beat him"

"Just survive the first round and he's done"

Bullshit lol. You can't "Just survive the first round", surely its not that simple. Just because Stipe had the boxing, speed, and awareness on the feet to deal with Ngannou's onslaught, doesn't mean other top HW's can do the same. Overeem couldn't do it and his striking defense is as good as it gets (compared to other HWs) in last 2 years...

The blueprint is basically "to be good enough fighter all around"

Honestly, I think people need to focus on what Stipe did right instead of looking at what Ngannou did wrong, to analyze the fight correctly.

Both Stipe and Ngannou are being massively underrated on Sherdog during the UFC 220 aftermath

Good point. What Stipe did last night is WAY easier said than done.

It's like fighting Dan Henderson, for example: everyone knows pretty much all you've got to do is avoid that H-Bomb. But then again, easier said than done. Or Demian Maia: just don't let it go to the ground and you're all set. I bet Condit knew it coming into that fight.

He's not Sokoudjou or Brett Rogers. He is a legit but raw HW talent. Sky is still the limit for him IMO. Dude has power, reach, and a hell of a chin. That's enough to contend at HW.

Just needs to lose 10 lbs and go to a true wrestling camp. No more just powering out of positions and wasting energy.

Stipe ate some heavy shots that wouldve turned the lights out on every other HW yesterday. He ate them flush. Ngannou wasnt even lading properly against the other HWs.

How to beat Ngannou: Avoid his hands at all costs!

Agree is pretty hard to beat Ngannou only other man who can do it is Cain. Is hard to find in HW someone with good wrestling plus gas tank.

Stipe have been underrated for a long time even when he became the champ people disregard his wins and just blam bad game planning on his opponents.

Anyways I really hope to see Cain comeback and fight Stipe what would move stipe to GOAT status for sure.

It's definitely easier said than done seeing as Ngannou has fought a couple all American wrestlers and a master of sport in combat sambo.
