In expected Sherdoggo fashion, Francis' loss in the war with Stipe leaves a great deal of historical revisionism in its wake.

I have little hope that my sentiments would not fall upon deaf ears but it is hope nevertheless.

People who hyped him up for UFC 220 were stupid, yes. But it was them, not him. Francis Ngannou is a good man and a good fighter.

The man holds the record for the highest punching power, eclipsing the prior record by over 14,000.00 units.
He is young, and very new to the sport.
His only two losses are by decision. Granted one of them was a one sided ass-beating, but that was against the champion.
He's not going anywhere for a while. Top contender.

When people overhype someone and that fabrication has been excavated, the proper adjustment is not to downplay or diminish the fighter himself or his accomplishments in the UFC.

We sometimes joke about how nobody cares what Sherdog users, as individuals or collectively, have to say. That may be true. It might not be so true.

But whether it's true or not is irrelevant in this particular context, and the context is that words should matter. Excessive hyperbole and outright falsehood lobbed in attempts to clarify one's perspective is unhelpful and muddies useful thought.

This isn't a troll thread, I'm serious. All of you know that I called Stipe to win. He did. That's no reason to misrepresent Francis. He's given us remarkable fights, including this last one. He'll give us many more.

Respect.

He's been exposed as another Phil Baroni. If he can't get the KO in the first couple minutes, he's completely gassed and useless.

I called it.

Ngannou KO'd Overeem and Arlovski. The 2 worst chins in the HW division.

Stipe was a different animal.

I think it's normal reaction to tonnes of moronic hype, in a way.

All this retarded 'over 9000 units of punching power' and so on.

Catharsis, of some kind.

As for N'gannou he is still easily top 2-3 HW right now, if only due to physical gifts and not being Absolutely Ancient Fuck. No hate.

This. Overrated before the fight. Underrated after it.

I said many times prior to the fight that Ngannou's inexperience would show through in this fight.... & that Stipe would strike smart & use his wrestling to take the big man down.

I gave Ngannou a punchers chance but that was it.

So I'm excused if I say those thingz now. :D

normal for sherdog

look at conor vs eddie

"eddie is game, he gonna grapple fuck conor!!"

*after conor*

"eddie is trash, has no chin"

*after gaethje fight*

"eddie's got a fucking chin, fucking warrior bro!"

it's normal people are angry because they think someone lied, but infact they are just stupid

He showed zero ground game. Zero. That's a problem in any division

I'm not shitting on him at all. He's still somewhat fresh in the game and has some experience to gain. There have been plenty of fighter who have evolved over time. He just happened to be in a shitty division and had no choice but to get a crack at the title. I recall Cain gettin smoked on the feet against Kongo early in his career and looked what he turned into. Same with Stipe. Got Rocked on the feet and finished by Struve! Not saying this is what will happen with Francis, but at least give the guy a chance!

Francis will KO Stipe in the rematch later this year

The bandwagoneers make noise and hyped a fighter up before losing.
The "i told you so" guys who were quiet before, shit on him after losing.

Is normal.
sherdog gonna sherdog.

It was just another case of too much too soon. Sometimes it works, more often, it doesn't.

Francis has some work to do but he's not a bum by any means. Now if he goes in there and pulls a JDS where he has learned absolutely nothing with the same gameplan in the future, then we can bash him.

No he won't.

He won't fight again this year, and if he does it won't be a rematch. Copy and paste this.

You're the reason people shit on Ngannou after he lost. It's a reaction to your stupid comments. Do you understand? YOU are the instigator. Shut the fuck up and go back to your hole

the heavyweight division is full of absolute cans or decent fighters past their peak. he was badly badly exposed by the first top level fighter in his prime he faced. he hits like a truck and that seems to be all he has. no speed, no cardio, no ground game.
