People don't like Cain because he's "boring"

I like watching him fight (on the rare occasions that he fights)

He doesn't have the best personality and I didn't like how emotional he got about Werdum's comments but the guy puts on good fights (win or lose)
What do you mean, best personality? I'm not a fan, but Cain seems like a good, respectful man. In fact, I hate it when Werdum (an annoying ass) tries to talk shit about him.

No, people don't like Cain because he's always injured and the UFC kept putting the division on hold for him and he seems to feel entitled to fighting for the belt.

Not all athletes are equally durable and if you think you're able to compete at the top echelon of the sport without training 100% each time you're deluded

Durability is part of what it takes to be a great athlete. Keeping your body in tip top shape is your responsibility as an athlete.

There was a video posted on here where Cain was dead lifting a giant kettle bell over and over again like fool. That exercise was obviously putting major strain on his back and then oh look he had to have back surgery...go figure.

Training hard and smart seem to be impossible for Cain, a retooling of his training program is long over due.

I don't feel boring has much of anything to do with it. I know I'm a fan and enjoy watching him fight. I'll forever be indebted to him for how he bounced Lesnar around in the cage. I also don't think he is hated or all that disliked. His inactivity due to injuries has stunted any momentum he was trying to build. He isn't one who is going to cut great promos but that's not for everybody. It's mostly frustration with him fighting regularly. If he could regain the title and string together some defenses without missing a lot of time I know the opinions will change.

He's had a good formula but I agree that he puts too much trust in his coaches. The knee exercise thing where he does like 50 reps of 600kg or something ridiculous like that does seem a bit extreme. Can't really fault a man for putting trust in people who've helped him become champ.

Cain is not a mouth for the UFC. He's not into intellectual prostitution. He's not going to talk a load of crap to build a fight, that's just how it is. Sucks that he's injured a lot but that's no reason to hate him? If anything that disappointment in him not being able to fight is only indicative of how much you want to see him fight. Sure it holds up the belt and what not but the belt is just a piece of gold plated metal that symbolises who the man is in whatever division.

People are more open to routing for guys because of all the drama behind the fights these days. It's obviously been touched on before here many times with the Mcgregor era in full speed before Nate put a beating on him, but it just saddens me that people on here seemingly make ZERO conscious effort to not buy into all the WWE nerd beats bully type of fake story line, that has to encompass any fight these days. It's foolish to think that at the end of the day these guys don't respect eachother.

Sorry for the ranting, it's just annoying seeing people who call themselves fans of the sport constantly shitting on Cain for injuring himself training hard to put on fights. Obviously he has his own interests as to why he fights, but he gets paid to entertain.

Cain is unjured a lot, but a healhy Cain is one of the best fighters ever. He is a monster. Idiots who sh*t on him just because he lost to Werdum in his last fight are disgusting. His injuries don't take anything away from his accomplishments, they just stopped him from achieving even more.

MMA fans sure forget quickly.

Speaking purely in cage, how the fuck is Cain boring?

It's a fine line...go hard, push yourself but know the limits of the body.
It does seem like the coaches are pushing these guys too hard and their bodies are breaking because of it...Cain, Khabib and now DC...If you're a great athlete then do you really have to train so hard, shouldn't you be able to rely on that natural athletic ability some what?...

No one ever said.

What they did say though was that he had pillow fists...

LOL

this was after the Kongo fight

Then they realised they were wrong after seeing the Rothwell/Nog/Lesnar fight

You haven't actually given any reasons why people SHOULD like him ts?

As long as he isn't holding a belt he's not defending I'm completely indifferent to him.

From my part I mainly don't like him because of the UFC portraying him as mexican and latin when the guy barely speaks spanish, he's as much mexican as a Burrito.

He is the Roger Huerta of the HW division.
