Surely any rational thinking person would go "I'm upset this guy I like watching got injured, but I know he got injured training hard to put on his best fight for fans like me" and then that would sort of make it alright? I think it's the subtle inclination behind his injuries that he tried to prolong his title reign or something.
Not a Cain fan but boring isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe him. Unless you're talking about his personality, then really who fucking cares since this isn't the WWE. Only Conor fans care about stuff like that.
I dislike Cain because
1. Hes always injured
2. He log jams the division
3. Hes boring
4. Hes always injured
5. He always fights the same two people
6. He ruins cards by being injured
That's exactly what I'm talking about. People taking in any old rubbish from the ufc as if they're a wheelie bin. People want personalities fighting, not athletes.
Reality is the guy has screwed over his fans by injuring himself repeatedly in training. That is not working hard, that is working stupid. Athletes have to stay healthy to stay relevant...end of story
I like Cain as a fighter, and like his attitude even more... but he absolutely doesn't deserve another title shot at this point. Cain fought 3 guys in the last 5 years, let him fight some other HW's and keep him away from the title unless he reels off like 3 in a row.Cain is not a mouth for the UFC. He's not into intellectual prostitution. He's not going to talk a load of crap to build a fight, that's just how it is. Sucks that he's injured a lot but that's no reason to hate him? If anything that disappointment in him not being able to fight is only indicative of how much you want to see him fight. Sure it holds up the belt and what not but the belt is just a piece of gold plated metal that symbolises who the man is in whatever division.
People are more open to routing for guys because of all the drama behind the fights these days. It's obviously been touched on before here many times with the Mcgregor era in full speed before Nate put a beating on him, but it just saddens me that people on here seemingly make ZERO conscious effort to not buy into all the WWE nerd beats bully type of fake story line, that has to encompass any fight these days. It's foolish to think that at the end of the day these guys don't respect eachother.
Sorry for the ranting, it's just annoying seeing people who call themselves fans of the sport constantly shitting on Cain for injuring himself training hard to put on fights. Obviously he has his own interests as to why he fights, but he gets paid to entertain.
I gotta admit,as much i like Conor,i hated the way the fans turned against Aldo, for the sole reason that Conor could communicate directly to them. He was the new toy to play with, and they just decided to forget about Aldo's entire career.
