People don't like Cain because he's "boring"

He isnt boring. I loved him working JDS like a speed bag,and annihlating BigFace.

I don't think I've seen a single person call Cain boring since his fight with Ben Rothwell.

People also get salty about his Mexican tattoo and the fact he comes out with an Mexican flag.

Not a Cain fan but boring isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe him. Unless you're talking about his personality, then really who fucking cares since this isn't the WWE. Only Conor fans care about stuff like that.

Skill for skill there aren't many if any fighters better than him at hw. But here it is. One fight in 3 1/2 years and it was a loss. He shouldn't be in the conversation with Rothwell & overeem and with that inactivity the only reason he stayed relevant was his belt. He's a guy that needs to be champion to stay relevant because he can't stay healthy.

Who says Cain is boring!? What the hell? He was always great to watch fight, high energy, lots of punches and constant pressure not normally seen at HW.

The problem with Cain is he over trains and damages himself all the time so we CAN'T see him fight.

Surely any rational thinking person would go "I'm upset this guy I like watching got injured, but I know he got injured training hard to put on his best fight for fans like me" and then that would sort of make it alright? I think it's the subtle inclination behind his injuries that he tried to prolong his title reign or something.

It's sadness but after a while it becomes annoyance that they can't stay healthy.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. People taking in any old rubbish from the ufc as if they're a wheelie bin. People want personalities fighting, not athletes.

I've never heard anyone call him boring until today. When he fights Cain is always active. Its the whole when he fights that gets people.

Fighters pulling out due to injuries and belts/divisions being held up because of injuries and instant rematches isn't sitting well with fans.

I dislike Cain because

1. Hes always injured
2. He log jams the division
3. Hes boring
4. Hes always injured
5. He always fights the same two people
6. He ruins cards by being injured

I agree with this

I would only add aka and brown pride to the list.

Who thinks he's boring? The guy brings it with nonstop action for damn near the entire fight every time he enters the cage!!

UFC changing the focus from what is inside the ring to what is outside can brainwash casuals into thinking MMA is a battle of trash talkers. Fighters don't really need it, if they're good at it, is a bonus. Cain is a badass fighter, as an MMA fan i'm completely ok with him being boring, as long as he delivers great fights im completely O.K.
I do like a good, funny charismatic fighter to break the ice a little bit. Like Bas, Tito, Chael, Unintentionally Nate and Nick, even Conor.

But my problem with trash talkers is that the majority of them never really lasted long, they fire up the stage for awhile but quit in bad fashion. The nature of MMA is introvert, caveman-like MMA fighters that can't really express themselves well so they most likely talk with their fists. we can't only go with what's "exciting" and what isn't, for the same reason there's people jumping from 20 FT in WWE to be exciting even if they have to do stupid stuff.

Dominant fighters will always be good to watch no matter how boring their personality is. i like those more.

I gotta admit,as much i like Conor,i hated the way the fans turned against Aldo, for the sole reason that Conor could communicate directly to them. He was the new toy to play with, and they just decided to forget about Aldo's entire career.

He isn't boring, he's disliked because he's careless in training and pulls out of fights constantly

Reality is the guy has screwed over his fans by injuring himself repeatedly in training. That is not working hard, that is working stupid. Athletes have to stay healthy to stay relevant...end of story

Not all athletes are equally durable and if you think you're able to compete at the top echelon of the sport without training 100% each time you're deluded

Cain is not a mouth for the UFC. He's not into intellectual prostitution. He's not going to talk a load of crap to build a fight, that's just how it is. Sucks that he's injured a lot but that's no reason to hate him? If anything that disappointment in him not being able to fight is only indicative of how much you want to see him fight. Sure it holds up the belt and what not but the belt is just a piece of gold plated metal that symbolises who the man is in whatever division.

People are more open to routing for guys because of all the drama behind the fights these days. It's obviously been touched on before here many times with the Mcgregor era in full speed before Nate put a beating on him, but it just saddens me that people on here seemingly make ZERO conscious effort to not buy into all the WWE nerd beats bully type of fake story line, that has to encompass any fight these days. It's foolish to think that at the end of the day these guys don't respect eachother.

Sorry for the ranting, it's just annoying seeing people who call themselves fans of the sport constantly shitting on Cain for injuring himself training hard to put on fights. Obviously he has his own interests as to why he fights, but he gets paid to entertain.
I like Cain as a fighter, and like his attitude even more... but he absolutely doesn't deserve another title shot at this point. Cain fought 3 guys in the last 5 years, let him fight some other HW's and keep him away from the title unless he reels off like 3 in a row.

TS is Daniel Cormier. Look at the initials in his name. I even read all of his posts from this thread in DC voice and it sounds like something he'd say.

I guess he has some downtime from the injury.

Same with TJ. Guys a meme on any social media he uses because Conor called him a snake to get to Faber/ Mendes
