ever hear of mas oyama? how many bulls did he kill with his bare hands? how about breaking real legit bricks?
the guy believed in some serious training and serious sparring a lot of it without hand protection. i do not go to that extent but i do believe there is some use in toughening the hands as well as preparing the body for punching something that reacts and feels much like a person.
vilo,
you write i give the worst advice, yet...
in the last thread where the guy asks for suggestions on his boxing routine...you disagreed about the routine i suggested, and scoffed at how short the time was i suggested for a guy who has only been boxing fo 2months. then you go and write a routine almost identical to mine with nearly the same amount of rounds. i wasn't the only one who thought so as well. do i have to post the routines side by side so your brain will decipher the similarites./?
then in your own routine you write this
which is nearly IDENTICAL to what i wrote earlier
you advocate footwork, i wrote it is critical in amateur boxing...i have done so for years on this forum...check my 04,03 posts. i label it as the most underrated and underused skill
your defense routine is very close to mine yet i use training partners more to work instead of equipment, you slip and bob more than i do, but i use parries.
even your towel drill is the same.
so worst advice bring your rebuttal

as well as thisperegrine said:then 2-3rounds on the heavy bag really working everything as if you were boxing- footwork, combos, speed, defense.
peregrine said:one may do more technique work in the mirror as well as some good visualization.
