my gripe isnt that stipe DIDNT finish but instead the fact stipe didnt even try to finish. francis was like a dead fish on the ground and stipe STILL didnt/ couldn't do anything.

yeah, I felt like Stipe could've finished him in round 2 or 3 after Ngannou's adrenaline dump, he had a lot of time on the ground to go for a submission, Stipe literally had him in what was like a police hold & pushing his head down for 5-10 minutes of the fight. Then he started to fade a little too so he missed his window to get a finish.
