hopefully there are more morally consistent folk regardless of our political stripes. (full disclosure, I definitely lean right)
Antifa are reprehensible, as is this dude with the hammer.
to be fair, some of the tribalism is because right off the bad, the left and the media portray this guy as a far-right, QAnon, MAGA person, as if there are no far-left crazies with their own CTs. So it is natural for those on the right to get defensive to try and shape a counter narrative.
As you can see, the day the news broke of the attack, the left was already foaming at the mouth about making it about far-right extremists. However, this guy is a drug addicted nudists, illegal from Canada who was living with a bunch of drug addicts, and only real known political history is he was for the green party
In addition to these, you also had president Biden talking about this as far-right extremism.
that was CNNs take. You can see Dana bash actually start to go into it being likely political related, but then contained herself and basically the final message was crazy that in such a well off neighborhood with both neighborhood security and house security, that it can be easily broken into and this can happen, regardless of the motive, which is very true
As you can see, the left on twitter already running with it. This Harvard prof with 1.3 million followers
