PED'S or not, only people losing out are the fans.

It's people like you that just don't get it. These are fights and the damage sustained in them could cause long term difficulties in somebodies life, allowing fighters to juice only increases the chance of significant injury or death. If you wanted to advocate the use of some steroids or HGH in a controlled and non abusing fashion for injuries to heal i could understand that, but that's not what's happening for the most part. These guys are taking roids/HGH to help them train more and to increase how much muscle they can put on, if they were using them to heal and on specific areas then they couldn't be working out so much that the gain such a massive advantage.

It also seriously harms the athletic integrity of the sport, i personally want to see the best athletes and martial artists compete for the belts, not the guys with the most money or best connections to get the best drugs. This should be treated as a sport not a fucking freak show. Having pro fighters roid raging on illegal drugs and buying them via the black market and supporting criminal organizations is a significant problem for society. Many of these drugs are illegal and can often cause serious mental issues. Did it ever occur to you that some of the best guys don't want to do drugs that can cause long term complications? Do you want another War Machine or another Chris Benoit? Do you think they want to end up like Randleman and get a fucked immune system or Kimbo and have a fucked heart? Do you think they want to suffer even more brain damage for the now even harder shots they'll be taking? Do you really think they should they be forced to sacrifice their health and well being even more than they already do just to compete so the scum bags of MMA don't get themselves suspended?

Get real and hold these guys accountable, they're choosing to do drugs and in many cases break the law. They know the rules and as a professional athlete it shouldn't be too much to expect them to act professional and not break the rules and cheat. I can't cheat at my job, why should they be able to? The rules are the rules, even if you think they're dumb that doesn't entitle you to break them it means you ought to fight to get them changed. The whole argument you're making is that you don't think these grown ass men should have to be responsible for their actions, and it's ridiculous. You want to change the rules so morons, the lowest fucking denominators in the sport, can't fuck up. The rules aren't robbing us of these fights the fucking idiots breaking the clearly established rules because they're cowards and feel the need to cheat are the ones robbing us.

Also don't pretend that Diaz got busted for a PED, he didn't. Banning dope or any other recreational drug is fucking stupid. I don't feel bad for him but i can't make anywhere near the argument against him that i could for a cheater. He's fucking up still but he isn't cheating and he isn't causing nearly the kinds of problems for society these other guys are, the worst thing he's guilt of is unprofessionalism. I want to change that rule too but its not the same thing at all.

Where is a study which proves that PED's will create more danger? Was there more danger in PRIDE? What about in the UFC? These men train to step in the octagon and 'HURT' one another…. PED's allow one to train harder, and more frequently. Playing devils advocate this is going to help prevent mismatches, it is going to allow skill 'AKA THE ONLY THING THAT CAN SAVE PEOPLE INSIDE THE OCTAGON' to improve….

The reality is that people such as yourself have zero idea of what PED's actually do. They aren't creating a super hero that can crush all. They aren't creating inhuman super sonic punches that explode skulls… They are enhancing recover to allow an increased frequency in training.

Using the 'black market' analogy is a straw man. Nobody is suggesting a free reign of street drugs. The only way to move forward is to have the drugs regulated. If the UFC spent their money hiring doctors to administer the PED's it would cost a hell of a lot less than the 40k per drug test… Not to mention it would level the playing field, decrease mismatches and make the sport safer… yes safer!

I heard Machida is getting 2 years too. Is that true?

People who support this stuff --punitive drug laws- are the reason pot is illegal. And all the junk science to go along with it. We got a thread going where Kimbo supposedly died of steroids. All these people died of steroids. It is reefer madness.
Good post. Thankfully I live in Denver so pot is very legal. But if I purchase some and drive like 4 hours in either direction at one random moment I suddenly become a criminal.

before USADA the rules stated people could roid?
USADA, by way of WADA create the lists of what people can and cannot take. They are employed by sporting organisations to 'market' a clean sport. They do this because fans, for whatever reason, draw the line at the use of exogenous substances…

The UFC is losing out on a lot of money.

The only thing the USADA does is level the playing field for the people that don't want to use. Harm prevention isn't their goal but a even playing field. The only true way to level that field is to remove all advantages a fighter can take through supplementation.

Pride was the best. No drug testing is actually more fair. Also, can't recall fighters dying from PEDs there as well.
Actually as much as I don't care if a pro athlete juices or not all those reports of 40 something year old athletes dying of heart problems would be your people dying of PEDs. At the end of they day they know that and are find doing it anyway.

Thats why fighters who wanna take what they want, stick Reebok up UFC's ass and get back sponsor money they were making....can go to Bellator and once the roster grows UFC and USADA can burn to the fucking ground.

Dana wanted to please GSP when he started whining about WADA and stricter testing. So Dana goes and gets the USADA testing where is GSP? He wont come back because he dont wanna look like a hypocrite when he pisses hot with his ginormous thigh muscles and freak athletic look he got after losing to Matt Serra the first time lol

They created the rules lol

LMAO...

No they didn't. They just adopted many of the rules of WADA. Have you ever even been to their website ? They do as much to try to educate, as enforcing the rules. It's a wealth of information.

This shit storm is on the cheaters... Period.

Wasnt to appease gsp he could give a fuck about him ot was the new nevada state athletic comissioner ..the ufc jumped before it was pushed into real testing

So far, we didn't get to see

Jones vs DC 2
Jones could be suspended for 2 years.
missed out on Chael vs Wanderlei
Chael would still be fighting in the UFC
Wanderlei would still be fighting in the UFC.
Cro Crop would stll be fighting in the UFC (RIZIN are under no obligation to honour his suspension.
Lesner could be suspended (essentially ending his career)
Nick Diaz would still be fighting in the UFC
Frank Mir would still be fighting in the UFC
Yoel Romero would still be fighting
Chad Mendez would still be fighting
BJ Penn would have made his return (banned IV)

Regardless, it's getting pretty annoying now.

The only people.....?

Not the honest fighters getting their noses broke and earnings hit and records affected by USADA not returning drug test results quick enough?

fans lose out, the fighters who are honest and not cheating lose out, UFC lose out on money. its a loss for all

which is why there are no kicks/knees to grounded opponents...as much as I would rather not be the rule..the fact of the matter is that ... it is a rule ...cheating is cheating...if a fighter you liked was fighting and got soccer kicked in the face you probably would have something to say about that

People who actually know something about the sport are defining those rules. USADA are defining a set of arbitrary rules when they know nothing about the sport. Their rules fit their agenda.
