Tech PEB's Motion Simulator thread {Worlds Best Driving Simulator for 10 years got an entirely new version}

I saw a recent article where some Sony big wig hinted Gran Turismo 7 may be released for PS4 and PS5 to avoid missing out on selling to the already big PS4 user base.

If true, good because no plans to buy PS5 yet even if it was available.
It's very expensive too right now with scalpers asking over 1,000 dollars for it. Right now I would stay away from pretty much any upgrade till things cool down everyone has stimulus money and are spending almost everything to buy a game console well above asking to GPU's same thing 3 or 4 times asking.

Here is something unique to motion simulators the ability to simulate g-force loads under acceleration or hard braking some people go all out and use air tanks and inflation bags to be mounted on the seat to simulate g-force loads mine is more simple depending on forward backwards momentum or thrust will pull the seatbelts that are tied to a bungee cord. At least the hope it will feel like your being pressed under acceleration. It will take a long time before I am finished still trying to figure out how to attach it.

My carbon fiber actuator is getting close to being done.

This is an insane simulator rig if only I had the room 3 65 inch HD screens worth north of 100,000 dollars but he largely bought off the shelf stuff not home made.

Here is my actuator lifting possibly upwards of 200 plus pounds easily.

You really need to take apart a motion platform racing arcade machine. You are re-inventing the wheel on some of this stuff.

I wanted to make a test rig an continually improve it to make commercial parts. It has been running pretty much problem free for 6 months. 100's of hours of testing with multiple people.

My future paint shop and welding location and building a unique motion simulator with something entirely new in the motion simulator space. Yes the garage needs tons of work it would not be a PEB project without huge problems. The door panels where taken out because I could not open the door lol. Just drove my car in to make a point because I don't think a car be in the garage ever lol. Replacing roof, window, likely garage door repainting the interior and cleaning out the sides.

New update on my new workshop for building an testing new hardware. Putting a new roof on the garage fun times.

I watched part of a super car documentary and one of the European mountain tracks looked a bit familiar and had me wondering if games like Gran Turismo have to pay licensing fees in order to put a real life track in the video game.

Yeah they do much like the cars. It's why the Spa-Francorchamps race track isn't in the game as its licensing fee is 2 to 3 times bigger than the rest of the tracks

I was about to say something similar Paris France trademark their entire skyline specifically for image reproduction including the tower. Microsoft has to pay to use the skyline in the game I would imagine?

Got someone to try a motion simulator for the first time and my Oculus Quest 2 VR headset using airlink she would not let go of the chair sides during the ride lol.

It's loud so turn down your headset.

Here is an updated photo of my workshop expansion. Bigger job then expected but coming close to finishing the roof.

I would love to do this for my garage workshop.
