Law Peace out OSHA

Mixed feelings about this one. On one hand OSHA is absolutely out of their goddamn minds with some of their regulations. I do tech rescue at my fire department and these guys will show up to scenes and make our lives a pain in the ass on actual emergencies (especially on trench rescues). 90% of the time we're having a guy with no actual experience other than reading a book telling us how we should be doing stuff.

On the other hand some of their regulations are there for a reason. They could probably use an overhaul not a gutting.

I seem to recall some government official trying to use osha to force people to take an experimental vaccine. I wonder if that has any role here or not. Not saying I’m for this but I’m definitely for having a real conversation around legislation clearly defining oshas roles and getting this into court for clear lines being drawn
Yeah it's over the vaccine. Ultimately OSHA does overall net good work and being abolished isn't the answer

I'd rather republicans don't introduce such shit bills in the first place.

And again, everyone is watching you duck this and just beg us not to talk about it.
i love how republicans bring absolute trash bills to the table straight from their billionaire overlords and the dumbasses that voted for them can only say "yeah but it might not pass".

The fucking disconnect...

There's no mixed feelings in my mind about this one. I can speak from experience. My aunt got killed in a workplace accident thanks to her company being a piece of shit. It was a horrible accident and my aunt did nothing wrong. The company in court admitted they fucked up and had to pay out of their ass thanks to OSHA. My cousin is better off now financially in part thanks to OSHA and lawyers but it doesn't change the fact that her mom died needlessly thanks to shit corps.

I love completely stripping entire organizations and programs left and right with no clear plan to replace them with something functional

As a guy that worked in construction for 15 years osha only cares about money and they only go after companies that can afford the fine.

the fact that people in our govt will side with corporations over sovereign citizens should be troubling for anyone that claims to love what this country is supposed to stand for. You know what they say though, about history repeating..

Yeah. But a Republican controlled House and Senate may very well pass it. So it's probably worth talking about what a shitty bill this is.

I understand your need to deflect though.

Needs over 60 votes. Doubt it will pass.

I get why big businesses would want to abolish OSHA, but why would the common Man ever cheer for this.
because they tried to force everyone to vaccinate. Bunch of people lost their jobs over it. You know. Those regular folks you’re bitching about. Wanting to keep their stupid jobs. What little bitches always wanting to work and feed their families.

Disconnect? The fucking hypocrisy from you is absurd. This won't even make it to the floor. You want to ignore the disastrous bills the DEMS PASSED in the last 4 years that fucked us all? Bills with "tree Equity", "Birthing Individuals", "Climate Justice"....WTF man. Talk about disconnect. What about the grants for illegal migrants? That went over really well. That lost your team the next 4 years. What about the entire "Build Back Better" bill? 2 trillion of shit---The bill doubled the size of the Internal Revenue Service, and raised taxes like a mofo. And it wasn't the wealthy feeling the pinch – an incredible 80% of taxpayers would see their incomes reduced under this bill. Businesses are punished for investing in their own stock, and with inflation already an issue, even top Obama aids said "hold on, this is some sick shit". And you bitch about a BS bill that will never see the light of day? Fucking pathetic.

You can you provide a source?

You are unhinged. Hopefully you'll come back to reality some day.

This was the point I was getting at. I feel like we are going to hear a lot of "this won't happen." After a while of hearing this so much maybe it is time to start judging people who are bring this stuff up rather than simply saying it won't happen. Because essentially it is the apparent good guys that are coming up with this BS. It's like some of my previous posts where I said they are just going to bombard the system with this stuf that eventually something will get through.

It already is. Remember when some of the dumbass democrat representatives and senators volunteered to work with DOGE because they thought it was going to operate as an actual government agency? Everyone assumed that they would follow the law. What's the worst they could do?

Now less than 2 weeks in, they've completely taken over OPM, OMB, completely closed down USaid, and forced hundreds of career civil servants out of the government, without a single shred of oversight or care about the law.
