Paulo not only doesn't deserve the fight, Whittaker also deserves a TS. It's a double whammy.

Paulo should go fight Vettori, or Cannonier, or Till, or Hermansson.

Rankings wise Costa does deserve it. He's #2 while Robert is #1. They haven’t fought eachother and both guys lost to the champ.

Whittaker is better than this. Vettori vs costa is the fight to make. The cringey, stupid trash talk to come out of that fight would be priceless. Costa will make sexually inappropriate jokes, like he did against izzy. Vettori will unleash tirades of fuck bombs and maybe slip some cancellable words in there. It'll be hilarious. The actual fight itself would also be spectacle. Watching vettori ragdoll Costa would be a treat, as would his misguided call out of izzy, only to get beaten even more decisively the second time. Book costa vs vettori asap.

If this was another fighter they would sit on the sideline until a titel shot. No need for Whittaker to fight Costa, Rob vs Cannonier was the number one contender fight. But think he wants stay active after all the injurys Rob have suffered and last minute pullouts.

I call BS on Costa being approached for this fight and having a contract already, unless Ismail drew it up himself & gave it to Costa, I think its just his management hype.

I'd be surprised if Whittaker asked for this fight, despite what everyone's saying (about Whittaker avoiding a rematch) I was one of the few people to actually listen to his recent interview & it would seem that he's content to take a short break until his baby's born and would then consider a rematch.

So... IMO the only reason Whittaker should take this fight is if he's in no man's land (like Nagannou) desperate to fight but stranded without an opponent for the next 9 months; he's not - therefore its just BS.

I think the Izzy loss literally lit a flame in Costas ass... i think we will see a focused, bulldozing Natty Goat ready for war. Rib is a very rough outing though, the hardest matchup in the division for him aside the champ imo. If Costa smothers him early and dosent give Reaper space to blitz in and out i can see him taking the w in a 3 rounder. 5 rds is a different story. Whitaker has excellent cardio and i dont see Costa putting Rob away. He wont grapple Rob either. Tough fight for Paulo but not imposible to win, get Rob against the cage , land to the body and threaten with head kicks. Its gonna be a great matchup if it goes down!!
