I can see the fight happening, to be honest.

I don't think Khamzat will beat DDP, leaving him around the #3 mark.

Costa needs to get another fight within 6 months, ball's in his court, I'd be looking at Cannonier next.

Given how Khamzat will not fight for another 12-18 months, this would be a logical #3 vs #7 fight IF Costa can beat Cannonier. The UFC will no doubt favour Khamzat, he'll be coming off a loss (if DDP beats him), so yeah. That's a solid reason to book it.

We could be seeing this fight.

Calling Khamzat a coward when he pulled out of their scheduled fight is hilarious. If not for trolling on twitter Costa would be completely irrelevant.

To be fair, that literally applies to 99% of people born in 1980 or later. Not us on Sherdog obviously, we're part of the select and superior few.

Not gonna lie, I still would be interested in this fight, if nothing else than for the bad blood and buildup of it.

But Paulo is definitely going to have to win another fight or two before he gets it, unless Dricus does the unthinkable and absolutely clowns on Khamzat one-sidedly.

That's my thought. I could see Khamzat's stock taking a big drop if he gets finished fast by Driscus. The hype job calls would be loud, so fighting someone like Costa to bring back his rep would make sense. Still, it's far from certain that will happen.

You know what else sells fights? Good fights--not that they sell themselves, but they sell the next fights you make. And putting on bad fights means that your next round of fights are less likely to sell well, especially for the losers of the bad fights.

Costa knows well that the outcome against Izzy would be the same.

Even if Izzy has been exposed by the new generation, Costa belongs to the old one too.

Yeah but on the other hand, if Khamzat besmirches DDP, like every other win, it will be downplayed. 100% guaranteed.

Anyone using the term "hype" with Khamzat at this point should not be taken seriously by anyone. Even if he loses to DDP, he's proven he's the real deal.
