Paul McCartney was the worst Beatle

Super hot take and I know a bunch of you are going to shit on me for it but I was listening to some old music and it dawned on me that I've never heard a Paul McCartney song that I liked. Except for Say say say, which the one he did with Michael Jackson. And then there are a few Beatles songs I like too, but obviously those were collaborations with the other band members.

But his solo work is shit. Simply having a wonderful Christmas time is one of the most annoying and repetitive songs ever. Live and let die is so bad that I can't even enjoy the guns 'n roses cover of it, even though I love GNR. Band on the run has one good riff during the "if I ever get out of here" part, but then he ruins it by completely changing it into a different song that's very bland. He should've made that one guitar riff into it's own song, but he ruined it.

And I find a play list online of Paul's greatest hits and I listened just looking for one song I like and I can't find it.

Music is subjective and all that but it's strange that everyone thinks he was maybe the best Beatle (although many say it was Lennon), whereas I can't find a single good song.

There are solo songs from the other 3 that I really enjoy, even Ringo. But Paul just doesn't do it for me.

Ok now go ahead, tell me I'm crazy.

I'm mostly going by what each member did after the break up. There are several Lennon songs I like, several Harrison songs I like, and even a couple Ringo songs I like more than anything Paul did after the breakup.

During his time in the Beatles, I've read that it's hard to judge credit much of the time because Paul even said John was almost always consulted on songs even if his name didn't appear as the songwriter, and vice versa.

I think you would be well served to reword & refile your case, Music Lawyer Man.

Because, c'mon, Harrison was a virtuoso guitarist, and Ringo is now appreciated as an underrated drummer who grooved in the group dynamic, but Lennon and McCartney were the heart & soul of the Beatles. They wrote almost all of the songs, whether individually or in collaboration, and they were the vocalists. McCartney is clearly the more capable singer with the better voice, even John recognized that. That's why Paul sang all of the songs he wrote, and most of the songs they co-wrote, or even some John wrote himself, some of those George or Ringo (co-)wrote, and most other songs they covered. Lennon has a very cool appeal as a singer, with his strange nasally voice, but it isn't controversial to forward this.

To call him the weakest Beatle is untenable. If you want to ignore everything they did as Beatles, cool, but just say, "McCartney has the weakest solo catalog of any of the Beatles." You're still wrong, but at least this isn't a catastrophic faceplant.

Offer up 10 songs for Ringo & George, respectively. I'll do Paul.

I'm not the biggest Harrison fan so I've only heard his big hits. My sweet lord, give me love, got my mind set on you, but I can appreciate those songs. They're pretty good. Especially the first 2.

As for Ringo, the main one I like is "it don't come easy"

He has another that I thought was decent but I don't recall right now.

Then of course with Lennon, imagine and instant karma are great songs. I love them both.

Paul said himself that him and John collaborated too some extent on almost all the Beatles songs, even the ones where one person got sole writing credit.

But then when Paul went on his own, nobody was there to help improve his songs, so he just put out bad song after bad song.

You may not like him and thats fine but he had alot of hits with Wings too . He literally did everything in the Beatles and was the most important member even Lennon got more pub and may of been the better vocalist (ita close him n Paul) Lennon likely the better writer. But Paul wasn't a slouch there either - him.and Lennon writing together made some great stuff
