Social Paul Harvey "If I Were The Devil"

pretty sure it was Americans dying in Vietnam (along with the Vietnamese)

Lol.
I'm talking about the monologue from the OP.

Also, if you're going to be a contrarian, then make a case. "lol" is not any sort of argument.

All you did was say today bad, past good.

I say today better, past worse….

no, it's really really dumb and in bad taste. it's destructive.
It's sexual harassment. Children cannot consent to that. The man should be locked up and cps called on the parents. If you showed up to my six year Olds birthday and I had a stripper come out I'd expect the same result.

based on the law it's not sexual harassment. is there another law you meant?

You think the ten commandments were written to bolster man's worst instincts? I can't even take these teenage angst level lib takes in here lmao. "Religion isnt perfect so nothing is good about it!" Ok....

The 10 Commandments puts the feelings of god and his priests first, bitching and whining about taking his name in vain, giving the priests an excuse to bitch about how people are talking. But somehow god couldn't be bothered with genocide, rape, slavery. It is a stupid list.

Watch Dirty Harry and listen to Clint Eastwood’s cultural insight on the future. It’s all true 40 years later.

He recorded this April 3, 1965 and it's pretty interesting.

People have been saying this sort of thing for years. They thought rock and roll was the devil's plan in the 50's. Harvey was watching the hippies and free love and it shook his Puritan values. In 1965 he should have been talking about staying out of Vietnam.

If someone pulls down their pants and jiggle my tighty whiteys at children you don't think that's sexual harrasment?

Genocide is kinda covered under thou shalt not kill. Rape is also condemned as early as in fucking genesis. The first book. You are uneducated all religions are man attempt to strive for something greater than themselves and in a lot of religions the aim is to be a good person. The Bible more than any book is largely responsible for literacy. That alone is a huge win.

Read the sexual harassment law. I don’t think it is. Like I said, maybe a different law.

God authorizes genocide repeatedly in the Bible. The commandment regarding killing is about in group murder. What did the Jews do after getting lost 40 years?

God doesn't authorize genocide in the Jewish books he comits it, twice i beleive. I'm areligious and God curious. The new testament is clearly much better and more what our civilization is built on. The original is essentially a comic book for the jewish race. You can learn things from both though. I'm suggesting you not throw the baby out with the bath water. Flawed people wrote a book on what they believed the ultimate good to be, it's not perfect but it's what we have as a starting point for discussions on morality in the modern age and there is no way around that.

Harrasment apparently requires repeat incidents it'd more likely fall under sexual assault or flashing laws. Do you think it would be appropriate for the man to be charged? Do you hold the parents responsible? What's yhe correct action for them?

Rock n roll is indeed the devils music

Yeah, what a shitty time. They didn't even have fentanyl and weren't encouraging teen girls to have mastectomies yet. And the way things were affordable and we had tight knit communities that looked out for each other,... *cringe and shudder* .... hell there were barely any mass shootings either. Good thing we're where we're at now.
This is more what I’m taking about and less specific to this monologue. People are not encouraging teenage girls to get mastectomies. You’ve let social media blow this issue way out of proportion in your mind. Trans people have existed since the beginning of time.

You talk about 1965 as if it were so great. That’s because you know a white washes history of it that leave out the bad. There was a lot of thing wrong in the 60s but people as a society just pretended it didn’t exist.

You brought up fentanyl bud all that is is stronger heroin, which was definitely prevalent in the 60s. Unhappy marriages women couldn’t get out of were prevalent. Women taking medication to deal with their unhappy lives was prevalent, which is what he was talking about when he said pills. Men getting drunk all the time, cheating on their spouses and beating them was normal.

That’s just off the top of my head what was wrong with the white, middle America nuclear families. Racism and racial oppression is something that would take way more typing than I want to get into. You can do this for every decade in our history, but it would require you taking off the rose tinted glasses and giving it an honest look.

But if you happened to be one of the lucky ones that was in an actual marriage founded on lasting love, were religious, didn’t have a massive drinking problem, and most importantly were lucky enough to be born white, 60s America was probably pretty great.
