Haven't seen a thread yet so figured I'd make one to chat about the tourny. anybody here competing? I'm in Irvine for work and I'm going to try and sneak off to watch at some point today/tomorrow lol

Sitting out this year with a sprained lcl. Super bummed

I was going to subscribe to flow grappling in order to watch Pan Ams but want to cancel after the first month. Has any body had an issues with flow grappling on cancelling membership? Are you able to watch view different mats pretty easily?

Is budo still doing the servers and camera work or did Flo take it all over?

Also, heard Benji Silva got DQ'd lol. Dude can't catch a break in the big tournaments.

Saw Kennedy Maciel lost in the first round. No cake for him.

My instructor and one of our blue belts will be competing. Think they compete Friday and Sunday.

Nope, harsh words from dad, instead.

"With Kennedy I have to be honest. If it was bad, I will tell him, that was bad. You didn’t train 6, 7 hours a day for this crap."

“Of course I’m disappointed. Not just as a father, but as a coach,” says Rubens ‘Cobrinha’ Charles. “The referee just came to me to apologize, he said he made a mistake with the points, but you can’t blame him. I think this is the coward’s way. Kennedy should have done better to win."

Andre Galvao is doing ultra heavy??

Makes you wonder what goes on in Cobrinha's head every time he loses to Rafa.

I trained with Cobrinha for two years. I've never seen anyone apply more pressure to themselves. I guarantee his internal monologue would strip paint.

That's really what I was referring to rather than making fun of him. No one gets to that level without having insane internal drive, and people like that don't tend to be very forgiving of themselves when they fall short. Their standards are too high.

Damn Cobrinha. There will be other tournaments.

You learn more about your losses than you do your wins.

I cancelled without any problems.
