To be fair, most people around here thought Gordon was a can being fed to Pimblett. ......
They didn't watch Jared's win over Joe Solecki who is another beast that would tool Paddy too.

Both guys should beat Paddy but I could see Paddy going full spaz vs Dariush and starching him like Hernandez did if he's lucky.
I could see Paddy winnig against Hooker if he gets concussed and gets +50 Iq somehow.
There's a path to victory even if very small.
Vs the other guys there's 0 path to victory.
Yeah because he’s not good enough to meet the hype. Conor was good Enough to ascend to a title on top of the media hype he generated before even challenging for it. Paddy I’m fairly certain is not.Conor became a star pretty fast. He’ll never reach Conor level stardom
To be fair, most people around here thought Gordon was a can being fed to Pimblett. I thought Gordon was a better fighter. Tons of people bought into that hype.
I think it also wasnt the fact that he lost, he was not undefeated, but whole Ariel thing and the way he acted after, and rhe fact he wasnt good to begin with, it just exploded in his face.
Dont think hes much worse than Sean O' Malley tbh. I know he' s ranked two or whatever. More talented than Pimblett yes, but many fighters are.
Mostly a product of ufc match making with striking talent thrown in there. I didnt like that Gordon fight for Pimblett. They didnt cherry pick for Paddy like they did for Omalley, but I digress.
To this day, I still dont know why they fed Molly to Blanchfield and they couldve done a lot better job like they did with Paddy like they did for Omalley. It just confuses me this lack of cherry picking for their potential uk cashcows.
Imagine Paddy fighting Dustin Poirier or Charles Oliveira.O’Malley fought Yan. If PP fought the equivalent of Yan he would get destroyed in the first round.
I fucking hate Dariush's guts, think he's overrated and feel like Gamrot is his only true elite win in his current streak, but Dariush would fucking annihilate Paddy within the 1st two minutes of the first round. Paddy doesn't even have close to the athleticism to catch Beneil like Barboza and Hernandez did, and Dariush's grappling and improved boxing would be much more than Pimblett could handle. He's not beating Hooker either. In fact he loses to the entire top LW 15, and the higher you go up, the more brutal the loss would be.The best guy Paddy can beat is Dan Hooker and maybe Dariush if Paddy is lucky.
BAD PR look that he hasn't recovered from since... Dana told me this guy was the next Conor... Had it all set up@282 just to blow it against jared gordon.
Remember thinking this guy looked like a BEAST against twerk king and vargas.
Gordon 1,2,3 BTW.
But Gordon lost sir. The three people who matter cage side agreed on that.
Paddy absolutely deserves the hype and the UFC push he's getting. There aren't a lot of people on the roster who have his natural charisma. He can make a ton of money fighting the journeyman on the roster. A lot of fighters would love to be on the cards he's on. More money for everyone. Not everyone's destined to be the top in the division.
Dariush really? I’ll go ahead and say both Hooker and Beneil starch him.
Because he had a huge following before even being in the UFC. I hope he gets matchup with another guy that'll kick his ass btw.
Yeah, I don't believe the UFC wants a Murder. Lol, I'd watch and laugh my ass off though with joy.Dober would be nice sir.

I think that the bottom line is that UFC, as much as they are good at making money/promoting their brand, are just not very good at either matchmaking or promoting fighters. To be fair, most people around here thought Gordon was a can being fed to Pimblett. For matchmaking, they'll needlessly smash two prospects against one another while clogging up the top of a division with a few aging also-rans (like Masvidal); they also don't let guys coming off bad losses take a sensible rebound fight (aka Sexyama treatment, most recently seen with Reyes).
For promotion, they leave it up entirely to the fighters to sell wolf tickets on social media, instead of actually doing their job (as a promoter) and creating hype around a deserving prospect. They bury dudes like Umar Nurmagomedov on the ESPN+ prelims and then complain that a dude who is not a native English speaker (or an edgelord) but wins all his fights (in front of an empty Apex and with no one watching at home because it's Strickland headlining) is not also a larger-than-life crossover mainstream star.
