Paddy Pimblett v Cowboy Cerrone

This is true.
Yeah doesn't seem like he's any where near where he was. Basically losing to Price kinda showed us. Perry he stopped the hype, Hernandez, Yancy believe it or not had hype when he fought Cerrone. There are quite a few others like him beating Eddie in his debut. It doesn't seem like he's the same dude though and I'm not sure he can put together wins after losing like he has.

Paddy is actually trash....it's a testament to how washed up Cerrone is that people are picking Paddy to win.

If Cerrone has anything left, he'll win this. Paddy is extremely rudimentary and unrefined on the feet. Doesn't have much power. Just tries to overwhelm you.

I personally would love this matchup.
If it hits the ground, I like cowboys chances.

Double knockout please. :D

Cowboy is definitely past his expiration date but he’s still very dangerous. I wouldn’t e in a rush to put Pimblett against someone with that much experience

Great post, respect and a very fair take.. It's pretty mad that in 54 fights he's only lost by submission once, I hadn't taken that into account or a lot of what you've just written about.

Offensively though he has only 2 submission wins in his last 24 fights, against Brazilian Cowboy and Mike Perry, both pretty reckless lads like Paddy(prior to that way back in 2014 against Edson).. I have no doubts he could get a sub win, but Paddy looks strong at LW to me, a lot stronger than his 5ft10 frame would suggest in contrast to Cerrone's 6ft at least.

Pretty excited to see this now after thinking about it.

Also that's a really cool Avatar!

It's true, his only recent sub wins were sparse and weren't against the most defensively sound guys on the mat. I think a lot of that had to do with many opponents recognizing how dangerous his guard was, him fighting a number of strikers, and Cowboy being a dude who is willing to bang. Regardless, I'm not sure he would necessarily have to sub Pimblett; he could potentially outwork Paddy on the mat like Soren and Nad did. That said, I agree that it wouldn't be a foregone conclusion given Pimblett's grappling skills.

Thanks, it's courtesy of @TARTARA from the Lewis vs. Daukaus thread! I just happened to do pretty well on my picks for that card.

I had seen you on Tap leadboard already,
that you had pretty much a perfect card...
then i saw in the PBP thread ...
and then i liked the original AV ...
and i thought "nice AV, to give it a try..." !

( I just like to make things like this... )

Merry Christmas guys, have a good one !

I think Cerrone wins this. Paddy looks like a legit prospect but he hasn’t beaten that many good fighters, and he’s lost recently to fighters worse than Cerrone.

Cowboy of a few years ago would have put this kid away relatively easy. Now who knows. He has looked so so bad his last several fights I wouldnt bet on him to beat anyone in the UFC

Weird match making and a dangerous fight for Paddy.

Cerrone can for sure ko the Baddie standing and it could be a tough night for Paddy if it goes to the ground.

Even washed Cowboy is a dangerous fight for anyone.

War the Baddie tho hope he gets it done.
(If Paddy is a large favourite Im gonna put some $’s on Cowboy.)

I don't have a good feeling about cowboys chances. Paddy actually looks pretty legit to me. Although his defense looked shaky so cowboy could catch him with a head kick.
