I feel like it's a bad look for Paddy (one of the largest LW) to be calling out a blown up Featherweight.

I also feel like Paddy is ready for the elite @ LW, and should have to fuck about with FW's. People looking to downplay his destruction of Michael Chandler will point to his massive size advantage, fighting another smaller dude just makes him look like a weight bully.

Paddy's victory over Chandler on Apr 4 made it official for me... Paddy is a star, and I think he can pretty much get a fight against anybody in the division, so if that's what he wants, I guess so.

I strongly disagree about it being a bad look. He's the first LW to even mention that he's open to fighting Ilia.

Ilia is no longer a FW, he vacated the belt.
He's coming from back to back KO's of 2 all time greats, who both has had great performances at LW. Still undefeated.

Reasonable people know that there's a reason that there are weight classes, not height classes.

Paddy is himself a former FW, as is Ilia, Moicano, Charles, Dustin and Holloway.

Also, he mentioned that he would like to fight Arman, Charles, Justin and Dustin in his post fight interview. He is open to fight anyone above him in a title eliminator.

I agree, he needs to fight anyone in the top 5 (or Ilia) to earn his shot.

I disagree about the height of his opponent being relevant at all. Volk was Islams shortest opponent and he gave Islam a tougher fight than Charles or Dustin, for example.

If Gaethje, Dustin and Charles reject the Paddy fight for whatever reason (wanting to fight "legends", or demanding a titleshot), Ilia or Max are viable options.

Fun fact, both Paddy and Ilia have had fights at 135 lbs. And Holloway is taller than Paddy.

Paddy is a star. I was at a bww watching the fights, a mostly Mexican crowd. The spanish fighters were popular. Paddy tho he easily had the most noise . My son knows and likes him and doesn't watch fights often. Some guys just break thru and Paddy is it.
