News Paddy - Bring back grounded head kicks (and knees)

Just lost respect for Paddy, lad. Being back the stomps do. Idc where the head has to go.
If you can't stop opponent from stepping on your head You don't deserve to win the fight.

Just do a "wanring track" around the perimeter and limit strikes there

(to only ...)

(... everything. It's a fucking fight.)

I have my knees on the ground, ha ha you can't kick me, what a load of absolute crap, and they call it the fight game.

You guys have this all wrong.

Sprawl and brawl is a relic of the past. Everything is a chain grapple now. There's a huge misconception that if we allow grounded knees that it'll hurt wrestlers. On the contrary. Knees give top heavy pressure fighters a big tool to attack with. No more wall walking back up when they can knee you in the face against the cage.

Would that rule help or hurt grapplers?
Both, which is why it’s a good rule. It would lead to less ground stalling and holding.

Either the grappler finishes things more quickly with knee strikes when he’s dominating the guy on the ground, or the defender being better able to counter takedown shoots with knees.

It's win-win.

I don't think that kicking or kneeing the head of a grounded opponent would put his life at risk more than being 12-6-elbowed or being headkicked to the hospital while standing

But in terms of impact that those actions would have to the mainstream opinion, I think it would be too much.

It's still ironic how Pride allowed head stomps and soccer kicks but didn't allow elbows.

I know that was related to tournaments and having to fight multiple times in a night but still funny.

They also allowed steroids haha, but no none of those nasty elbows on the ground!

It's best that any regulatory lobbying efforts focus on grounded knees separately.

Soccer kicks make people particularly squeamish and linking them together will kill off the chance of knees, which are an easier sell.

MMA is completely fucked without grounded knees. It's a retarded sport without them.
Yup. Knees could potentially win that appeal down the line, stomps and soccer kicks aren't happening in the ufc
