Overeem doesn't see Alex Pereira as a champion

Do you see Pereira as a real champ or not?

Hard to compare. They competed at different times. Alistair fought at the highest level which is HW K1 and captured a GP belt in the premiere organization. You can argue that he had one of the easier brackets so he won.

Alex came after the fall of K1. He made his name in Glory. During Alistar's time those MWs and LHWs didn't really exist. Those divisions were not popular. They were small guys that couldn't compete at HW. They had to bulk up to do so. Alistar was one of those people. Most of the small guys were not successful in K1 in terms of capturing a title.
They both definitely cut out a good career.

Both have some very high quality wins.

Who gives a fuck about Overeem. Dude was a massive steroid abuser throughout the vast majority of his career, not known for his intellect.
Idk if that’s fair. Yeah he was on roids but he is a veteran of multiple sports and fought in the most prestigious promotions for those sports, PRIDE Strikeforce, The UFC, K-1, GLORY, ADCC(though admittedly they were only trials.)

He’s talking out his ass here but he does deserve some Hespect on his name.

"Once he's been figured out"

Umm.... Isn't that the case with everyone?

Poatan: Beats the current and former middleweight champion, and two light heavyweight champions

Overeem: I don't see him as a champion.

If Jan could have submitted or get a GNP stoppage on the mat, he would have. He had plenty of opportunity. Alex has solid counter grappling at this point, its plain to see. He's never going to be an offensive submission guy but why would he?

Overeem is always going to be a fun guy, but his career speaks for itself. He almost immediately got busted for PEDS upon joining the UFC, shrank, then resumed getting knocked out every third fight. Imagine getting knocked out by guys with the skill level of Travis and Bigfoot and having something to say about Alex.
Still hasn't fought a strong wrestler/sambo, sorry. Jan gassed bad. Not buying what you're selling. Jones would toss and submit him. Ankalaev deserves the chance.

That's a tough one sir.
Alex is double champ in Glory, but Reem won a K1 tournament.

It isn't really a tough one.

Reem's was roided out his mind when he won that tournament. It was glorious to watch lol.

Good to know.

Alex still gets wrestlefucked by Cannonier, Brunson, Vettori, Yoel, Costa and the Whittaker who fought Izzy tho
They're not on his weight class anymore, and you're mad and delusional.

Who has the better Kickboxing career Alex or Alister?
In Alister time, a guy the size of Poatan pretending to fight as "middlewweight" woulld be like the special Olympics.

Andy, Branko, etc fought everyone, irrespective of weight and won.

He usually only shoots against guys with subpar TDD, and Adesanya.

Jan would've won with the old rules where a fighter can just lay and pray to control, but with the new rules you need to actively be going for the finish to score points, and Jan didn't have the energy in the final 2 rounds to do this because of the altitude.

Alex has basically won 2 belts because of favorable matchmaking.
Does it actually matter? He beat 2 champs, he beat past and future champs. Maybe he can't beat everyone, but he beat champions. He's not as well rounded, but his speciality alkowa him to win championships. Overeem was well rounded, but he didn't win the belt. Reem is salty
