Media Overeem as ubereem had so solid and tight striking defense.

The whole Strikeforce GP became a sham with all the fighters refusing to be put in seeds with others

That would've been amazing.
This has me thinking that Big Foot was such a spoiler.

If it wasn't for him we could've seen Reem v Cain and at least sub-prime Fedor v DC lol

That was the closest we could've got, but also you have to think that even if we did it wasn't true Ubereem. He popped after fighting Brock and probably adjusted his PED regiment. Crazy part is he popped 3 years prior to USADA so you have to wonder how much he was on to get flagged like that.

We never saw anyone truly beat Ubereem, Werdum was the only one who made it out for the 1st round. Ubereem was only 2009-2011 sadly. I hear that when you get off PEDs your body rebounds the following months and shuts down production of testosterone and shit. If you think about the 2 losses (Big Foot and Browne) after the Brock fight it makes sense. People at the time called it luck, but Overeem's body was likely experiencing negative rebound, he looked softer every fight since Bigfoot. There's a reason no one posts his weigh in pics for Bigfoot like they do Brock weigh in.

I feel like Cain or Stipe would get clipped by Ubereem, and couldn't take him down. It's debatable, Stipe had a better chin and Cain better wrestling.

JDS could crack at that time, and KO'd Cain while Ubereem was at his peak, but also jabbed it out with Roy and Carwin when he wanted to avoid power strikers. I still think Ubereem would win, but JDS would have the best chance.

Unfortunately Ubereem only fought once against Brock in UFC before getting popped, after that he never looked the same physically or had that much confidence. I also wonder how DC vs Overeem would've gone in Strikeforce GP. Or Fedor for that matter.
The confidence of Ubereem was something else. He would go in there with a complete lack of respect of that his opponents could do to him.

Guess having like 28 times the normal testosterone can do that lol

Overeem was still in super good shape and could be considered Ubereem for much longer than people think. Him vs Lesnar vs him against Bjgfoot was the same physique, just not as good lighting at the weigh ins against bigfoot.

I still remember watching him fight Tyrone sponge lol shit didn’t look like they where in the same weight class

Not true. Overeem specifically called Fedor out during his K-1 tenure and did again in Strikeforce before and after beating Werdum. Fedor’s management said they heard the callouts but don’t think fighting Overeem with his new found muscle was a move they were confident in.

Fedor entered the Strikeforce HW GP and didn’t make it far enough. He didn’t duck going into that tournament but he did before the tournament was put together. Overeem was actually pushing to return to Strikeforce to fight Fedor instead of Werdum.

Everything you need to know is in this thread from years ago.

Makes you wonder what someone like Yoel Romero in his prime before all the strict testing would look like. I understand the ethical issues people have with PEDs, but there's a part of me that just wants to see every fighter in peak possible condition.

You have to think every fighter maximizes every single competitive aspect already: weight cuts, size, long training camps, nutrition, and whatever legal supplements. I just appreciate guys like TRT Belfort or Ubereem as unstoppable legends. I think if everything was allowed you'd see champs fight 3-4x a year, less injuries, etc. It's just night and day difference from these guys with or without PEDs.

Oh.. imagine a 20 something years old Romero focused on MMA... that would have been something very special.

Romero is a freak of nature. PEDs or not he is genetically a different animal.

Young Overeem was already known for that at LHW as well.

It would've been awesome to see Ubereem vs prime JDS. I know Overeem finished him 4 years later, but they were both different guys by then.
It is one match cancel that I still cant get over to this day, I remember coming to the boxing gym that day and half of the place was pissed

Would be champ in another universe

You're probably right. Though he was winning the big foot fight easily till he got caught... he did that a lot.

If Reem hadn't popped he would've fight jds. Ubereem v Pre USADA pre Cain beat downs JDS

Ubereem in his prime on secret juice, was the scariest heavyweight ever. Extremely fast, explosive, very powerful and very technical. He was ripped to the bones. All while looking like someone who could win an amateur heavyweight bodybuilding competition.

Yeah the short peak and prime of Ubereem was basically unstoppable. It's funny because I can picture so many HWs beating him before or after, but he had an aura of invincibility during that time.
