For those who enjoyed the first Outlast, here's some actual gameplay for the second one.

I didn't see a thread about this, at least none with gameplay, so here it is!

Looks gay, just like the first game. The protagonist only cares about his dumb camera. Why doesn't he man up and grab a sharp object just incase. I hate games like this.

You're gay..

But for real, I never understood that either.

Realistically, the first thing you'd do is try to find a weapon of some sort - but I get why they don't give you a weapon in these games and force you to run and hide. Having some crazy person or creature chasing you and you having to hide can be freaky sometimes, but to be in an area where you can clearly use so many things as a weapon but choose not to makes no sense at all.

The only thing that annoys me is that there's so many horror games like this now. Where you just walk around with a light (or camera in this case) but don't get to use a weapon at all, they're just too similar. These games wish they were Amnesia: The Dark Descent. At least in that one you're being chased by weird fucked up monsters and not just crazy people that you could easily murder in self defense, lol.

Fuck you, I'm not gay. You're gay.

That's exactly what pisses me off. I understand that a sharp object won't do shit against some demon or 500lb monster but I feel so pathetic running away like a bitch from some 150lb lunatic without the ability to fight back. I understand the type of game that this is so at least don't make me a bitch against a human. At least let me use my camera as a weapon.

You're one angry homo! nah I'm just messing with ya - it's cool, mods, we're not being serious so don't get all PCbro on us!

And yeah, it makes no sense. I'd get a weapon of some sort immediately. If I ended up in the middle of nowhere and there was a bunch of dead bodies around and some crazy people in the area, I'd hide too, but I'd make damn sure to have sharp or blunt object to defend myself if need be.

Now, if it was some big ass monster going around, I'd still try to find a weapon but I wouldn't look to use it at all because I'd end up like some poor bastard in every monster movie, mauled in seconds.

Not having a weapon adds to the tension; you are truly helpless playing games of cat and mouse.
