I have laid off the training for about 6 months for various reason and I have gained about 35 lbs of slop. I noticed last night that although my heart rate was average at about 84 bpm (beats per minute) while resting I was sweating and out of breath from walking up a flight of stairs. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing such as an average heart rate but with a decrese in endurence or stamina. I would think that my heart rate would be much higher while resting. Also my heart rate when I wake up in the morning is only 65 bpm.

Drop the extra 35 and start working out again. See a doctor about the heart. You can't be too careful with those things.

I did after I had my surgery and gained weight ( i had to basically take it easy for 3 months) but it was just that I had gotten lazy. Once I started working out again, I easily gained it back. Just start working out again ( slowly) and that'll take care of that.
