Ouch!!!

Ouch indeed. I love his expression at the end.

That sucks, as a kid I watched my dad completely rupture one of his bicep tendons while lifting a roll up door. You could see the muscle all contracted up at the top of his arm, I was real young but it was one of those traumatic things I will never forget.

I love his dedication to the lift.

I could see the pain etched on his face though, major ouch. He wouldnt be deadlifting for a while after that!

... Or actually doing much else upper body related. :icon_twis

Ouch!! now thats why i pull hook grip!

Just shows you what can happen in the sport of weightlifting, this is also why I now prefer double overhand grip in my dead lift, it feels more comfortable to me. Thanks for the video.

From the video description:
"I needed a token deadlift to win the Oxford-Cambridge powerlifting varsity. Instead I ruptured my distal biceps tendon on the opener. (Then I took a second attempt and locked it out for the win, torn biceps and all.)"

If true that's pretty hardcore... He doesn't have a video of the second lift up though.
