Orlando Sanchez Dead

if you lose your job you lose the insurance in most cases, unless you’re part of a union.

That is not true, COBRA is federal law and you would be eligible for up to 18 months of continuing the exact coverage you had with your employer. It makes no difference if you were laid off or quit.

Important caveat, your former employer will no longer pay a portion of your health insurance, if they were contributing. E.g., if the cost of your plan was $800/month and your employer was paying 50%, your old premium was $400 and will be $800 under COBRA.

Generally this is used as a bridge until you get a new job or take out a plan on the marketplace.

40 years old. Far, far, far too young to pass.

Life is short Sherbros. Get the extra scan. Get your physical. Talk to people if you're depressed. Get emotional if you need to get it out. Write something down for catharsis if you don't feel comfortable opening up.

Dude you don't even know how close to home this hits. I'm 41, close family friend 2 years younger just suddenly got hit with stage 4 colon cancer, and is already in his liver. can't take shit for granted.

Shit is scary man. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

When did I ever infer anyone wanted him to die?

Well, when you start a sentence with “My how the tables have turned” that already suggests a level of bewilderment at the condolences offered. I'm not surprised that the "Tables have turned" because you can not like someone but not wish them dead, obviously........ If you didn't infer that, why even say "My how the tables have turned?" That's the type of thing you only say to point out HYPOCRISY or IRONY.

There is nothing ironic about not liking someone but grieving someone.

Nice good to know. I’m unfamiliar with the employer insurance marketplace as I’ve been self employed my entire career. That’s good input though

Bizarre post. When the Strickland situation happened nearly everyone was saying how he was in the wrong but now he’s dead people are like “I wish he would’ve broken his arm!!!”

Lots of people are just respecting someone died. I’m not sure the majority of people here are switching their position as you suggest.

When the Strickland incident happened everyone was saying how he was a detriment to the competition BJJ community. Now that he’s dead he’s apparently a BJJ legend. Weird.

That’s an exaggeration. The dude is no doubt high level, ADCC class, but again, everyone can despise his attitude while recognizing his professional achievements, yes, I still think he’s a punk and so do many others. It’s possible to feel two things at once about a person….

I have no idea what took place. All I know is the guy was extremely talented, and while polarizing, was liked by many. RIP.
Words of wisdom.
