"What the UFC is doing here is so categorically stupid that my brain feels like it’s been repeatedly concussed by Alistair Overeem during his steroid-fueled days of being part-man, part-horse torso. Let’s break this down:"

It's worth a read whether you hate or love Conor, or simply are a MMA fan that's somewhere in the middle. I don't post this as a Conor fan (I was cheering when Nate tapped him), but it is absolutely worth a read even if you don't like him. Author raises a couple clear and concise points about the nature of the business.

Ufc pulling Conor off he card is the right thing to do

Employees ain't bigger than the brand

If you don't realize what's happening here, there was a time when employers wouldn't think twice about asking employees to work late for straight pay. Everyone did it. No one complained. Then one guy said, "No. If you want me to work more hours than I agreed to, you have to pay me more." I'm sure when he said that, way back when, there were people like you who thought, "He agreed to work for a certain hourly rate. If he didn't like it, he shouldn't have taken the job. Everyone else is working late, what makes him so special." But then there were also people who thought, "Yeah, this is bullshit. The fact that I work for this guy doesn't mean he owns me." And now we have overtime pay and the world is a better place. Don't be that guy who tried to stop people from getting overtime pay.

Conor this, conor that. Jon jones will be fighting in a few hours and people are more interested in talking about a butt touching leprechaun.

Conor runs this game these days. Look at Diaz from the presser. He doesn't want anyone else.

If you are from the US, then unfortunately, most Republicans, especially Trump supporters, disagree with you. Trump supporters agree with him that the wages are too high and we need to lower wages so we can compete with China and India.

Letting Conor throw a tantrum and get his way sets a bad precedent. UFC was right to draw a line.

The UFC brass's massive ego needs to be checked it's getting ridiculous

Yet he's almost begging the ufc to let him fight. The ufc stood their ground and he wasn't able to do anything about their decision. From easily earning millions win or lose, he just became a social media crybaby instead. Yes nate wants to fight him as he's the biggest money fight out there but conor does not run the game. Dana white does.

Fluff piece sucking on McNugget's balls.

Theirs a reason why half way down they used the phrase "media OBLIGATIONS". Because even this stupid fucking article knows he's OBLIGATED through CONTRACT to do what he signed on to do, and for which he gets paid handsomly to do.

So suck it up, buttercup. If you don't like what your contract states, then change the contract details the next time you sign an extension, OR RENEGOTIATE so you are no longer OBLIGATED.

Contracts are the foundation of how we trade goods. They are security to insure we know what we are getting. You don't get to change the contract because things are going well, and you can be assured the contract doesn't change when things are going bad.

No sympathy what so ever for the little mick.

Thanx mang, will read later. (When i'm drunker)

So the first thing I see is the Kotaku url.
Then I noticed a familiar name, Nathan Grayson, was the guy who wrote it.
Then I googled that name and lol he is one of the guys who returned sexual favours with positive coverage of Zoe Quinn's game, leading to the #gamergate revolt.
I thought this guy was a game journalist if anything. I understand you can write about whatever you want but if you're gonna read Nathan's opinion on what the UFC is doing, IDK if it's thread worthy.
So I just read his opinion now, or rather skimmed it.
It does't help this guy that he writes like a noob. Saying things like 'the UFC is being absolutely idiotic' when you can't know the full story is, well, absolutely idiotic.

I believe if he were still fighting dc I would be amped up. But alas, he isn't so there is no buzz for this fight. I'm not stupid enough to believe osp can't do it, but the likliehood isn't high enough to have my interest. Of course if he does lose, I'll watch it tomorrow morning.

The common trait between all Trump supporters is authoritarianism.

It wasn't always like that in America. The greatest generation, the ones that won WWII, organized and built the middle class. Then these dumb ass baby boomer conservatives bought into a supply side economics in the '80s and thought if you demanded better pay and conditions, that made you a cry baby. Real men hand all the money and power over to their employers, then get on their knees and beg for raises and benefits.

That Conor is a unique fighter in what he has done for him employer, and thus should have been given a bit of leeway on the promotional tour. Also, that he has been promoting a lot for them over the past year, and has taken more than one huge profile fight on short notice, again showing he deserves leeway. Also, in one tweet, Conor did more promotion than the UFC could ever do with 10 million dollars.

Did you write it?

No.
