Opinion: Conor McGregor Not a Trustworthy Commodity for UFC White House Show

If this thing actually goes through, I hope it is a spectacular failure that sinks the UFC and Trump into unredeemable shame. That said, I expect a happy mob in the coliseum.

Fuck it Conor vs Topuria on powerslap. That's the only way Conor shows up for a fight.

I dont think people realize that Conor cant physically survive a training camp anymore. You guys know how difficult it is to get yourself in fight shape? The hell these guys have to go thru? I dont think Conor is about that life anymore. Look at his new lifestyle. Its the opposite of being athlete let alone a combat sports athlete

When he was in his physical prime he had a cardio issue. Imagine now when hes older, more injuries, lots of money, lots of drugs and alcohol.

Yeah he looks in good shape compared to the regular joe but I dont think hes capable of getting himself in fight shape anymore otherwise he would have fought by now

A lot of people who are drunks and cokeheads do fight camps in prize fighting. Not really that uncommon.

Lol uh yeah being a full blown coke addict and drunk is uncommon in combat sports. Im sure a lot of em drink but like Conor are these days? No.. yeah Jon Jones does but Jones is one of one. Conor like I said already had endurance issues when he was in his prime, he had endurance issues even when he was able to push himself hard in training.

At his age and current state he won't be able to push himself. He will realize that and will pull out. Hes been realizing that for the last few years but he cant help himself but put his name out there for publicity

I think you watch way too much mainstream MMA if you seriously think there aren't drunks and drug abusers in the fight world. Do you think regional MMA, boxing, and kickboxing is filled with athletes with grade A training? None are drinking a ton? Clubbing a ton? Eating like shit? Smoking? Doing coke? There are meth heads doing MMA for god sakes.

McGregor doesn't need to "push himself" in training. It isn't Rocky 4. He is an older fighter, fight camp will be adjusted to what he can handle.. That's how training works. You already said he is more athletic than the average person - thats already enough to do a fight camp...average people do fight camps.

McGregor won't train that hard and if your counter argument is that he'll get his ass kicked if he doesnt - yeah, thats generally how that works - thats part of what being past your prime is. If you need some big name party example you can use Chuck Liddell I guess. Or a recent example is Julio César Chávez Jr.

You're inferring he is going to break down physically, which probably isn't why he is going to pull out. He probably just doesn't want to fight period. If it was an issue of his body not handling it or him wanting to party too much, then the agreement to fight at 185 would have been sufficient enough for that (PEDs which he probably takes already would also be enough to get him to the finish line if it were THAT bad), but clearly it's more than just physical limitations for McGregor.
