What do you preffer and why ?
If I could choose, I would decide to work in an office , eventually shared with max 1-2 colleagues,
so full open space offices are for sure not productive and stimulating in my oppinion.
Leads to a lot of stress due to many reasons.

Open you can chat more with buddies closed you get kinda lonely.

Closed. Too many eyes and ears in a open office. You have to watch what you say and for the most part you can’t eat at your desk and then still take a lunch break if it’s a open office

You can have the feeling of both if the space is designed well

I work in an open office space.

Pros:
- Looking at girls
- Can see what everyone is doing

Cons
- Everyone can see what you're doing
- No privacy. So when you have to call your doctor about something embarrassing you need to step outside.

All things considered, I'd rather have a cubicle for the privacy, and it would suit my introverted personality better.

Why would anyone possibly prefer open offices?
It's pretty dystopian in my opinion. Thankfully it's not very common where I live.

It's some trendy sjw shit imo. Prolly only at those weird tech companies

Open office is pure hell.
No privacy, tons of noise and distraction. No place to store your stuff.

Ours was slowly trending that way, dept by dept.
Fortunately, we went full WFH before that bullshit came to our dept.

Open plan offices are disruptive if you are an introvert. They work well for extroverts. Problem is you need a mix of introverts and extroverts for a successful business. So open plan offices effectively ruin one part of your work force. The best approach therefore would be to ask what your work force want individually.

Chose closed. Would rather work from home.
This is the best option, if your job can be done from home.
Likely now and then for some special occasions you need to come to the office.

Thinking about how it was super hard to have your line manager approving even 1 day a week/month of WFH before corona.
Now suddenly, many companies are somehow enabled to allow majority if not all their staff to be 100% WFH model.

I guess after corona, many will again have to obligatory come to the office, although they proved for over a year they can still work efficiently from home.
How is that normal and logical, whats the point to manage people like that in these years of internet and viruses.
