this topic is a good place to ask a question I been wondering about.
I've read a few times that since the ESPN deal, that UFC gets paid the same whether the PPV pulls big numbers or not, basically ESPN taking the risk.
how does that translate to the fighters that do get PPV points, anyone know? are those still based on actual sales, or are they getting a flat rate now too?
Streaming all the way, let em starve
It’s not if you knew the pay distribution and how it actually works. The ufc might not receive their ppv cut for 6-8 months and by then none of it matters. They aren’t renegotiating fighters contracts. The ufc is the benefactor. The revenue share will change per event depending on contractsBitching about fighter pay but streaming/stealing the PPV is kinda ironic.
makes sense. I admittedly haven't done a deep dive on that deal and it's intricacies, but have kinda wondered about those bits. sounds like they eliminated some low-end risk but still get some incentives on the major shows. They still revenue share after a certain point.
Probably both. PPV points have never been as lucrative as fans think. This issue was one of the stumbling points for Brock's return if I remember. A lot of fighters will have a side letter with a flat fee instead/in addition to standard ppv points.
Why are you so dumb? Is it on purpose as a joke, or is it completely accidental? It’s a stacked card and worth every penny. Let’s give back to the fighters and do the right thing. Anyone else ordering the PPV?
Huge improvement for the UFC, hence record revenues. Also gives them more control over labor since they dont' need PPV stars as much.makes sense.
