Mostly because he is just pushed and so people have an irrational hate for him.
Rodtang easily defeated Takeru. People hate Rodtang, so of you're saying Takeru was past his prime, which is nonsense (even if he was, it wouldn't have made a difference, it wasn't even remotely close). Same thing happened when Tenshin beat Takeru after people thought there is no way a hype job like him would win. People will always hate the big personality guys that are "pushed".
Rodtang basically beat Tenshin also. And he fought evenly with Superlek despite people saying Superlek would kill him. So Rodtang is an elite fighter, nothing fraudulent about him other than an occasional dude that doesn't watch MT saying he's the goat.
Takeru went to fight Superlek, Rodtang, and Tenshin and lost to all three of them. He fought the best guys from ONE and Rise and came out the losing side. No one screwed him over. He wanted to fight the best after ruling K1 and people found out he's not the best.

I enjoy ONE, although they're not really an MMA organization anymore so it's hard to compare them to UFC.
My only complaint is that their ring announcer is absolutely terrible.

This is bullshit. People who follow J-kick have talked about him getting old for a while now.
No one screwed him over? They pulled the old switch hero on him during fight week, the first time he was supposed to fight Rodtang, and switched him out for Superlek, because it was already fight week in Japan, and Takeru felt pressured to take the fight, against a guy with a completely different style than he had been training for.

ONE has it in their contract that they keep your image rights until you die lol. If you do some googling on ONE contracts there's all kinds of dodgy shit in them.

People have been making some preemptive excuses for a while. Sure. But let's be real, those didn't really become big until he lost to Tenshin.
But why are we even speaking hypothetically? The threads are on Sherdog still. We literally know that people were a sizeable amount of people saying Takeru would beat all the guys we are talking about. So obviously him being over the hill is greatly exaggerated.
Even the betting odds had Takeru as even or a slight-modest (depending on opening or closing) underdog against Superlek and Rodtang, and probably would have been the same against Tenshin. Major favorite against a non elite opponent.
Superlek was booked to fight Elias Mahmoudi. Takeru had the same amount of prep time as Superlek did.
