ONE: Northcutt KOd in 29 Seconds

Yep was a clever move from One FC and Sage should have seen it coming that this would be their approach. Sage had the worst ratio of fame to talent level. Give him legit fighters instantly when he still is a known name in the west and if he wins against the odds they have a great talent that furthers their reach. loosing he accomplishes even more for the org.

I am pretty sure they saw the outcome of this fight a mile away. Sneaky asians :D
Cosmo be like this to Sage Northcutt

Bad booking by OneFC.

For UFC paying him that much they werent gonna give him cans, he was gonna have to earn that money and fight top guys he aint ready for.

But for One they arent paying him to boost Cosmo. They should have given him a tune up since he's still young, he isnt eddie or MM, world champ top fighters. Could have eased him into the org with an easy fight or two before moving him up to better comp.

Sage Northcutt's post-UFC run is not off to an auspicious start.

Cosmo Alexandre knocked out Northcutt in just 29 seconds Friday at ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon in Singapore. Alexandre landed a big right hand to Northcutt's jaw on the first exchange and it was over. The bout was contested at 185 pounds.

Northcutt (11-3) was on a three-fight winning streak when he left the UFC as a free agent last year. The Texas native, once considered a blue-chip prospect and future star, went 6-2 in the UFC and seemed to get on the right career trajectory after making a move to Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, Calif. Northcutt, still just 23 years old, fought at 170 and 155 pounds in the UFC, but will compete in ONE at 185 due to the Asian promotion's stringent weight-cutting regulations, which does not allow for dehydration.

Alexandre (8-1), a championship-level kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter, is a veteran of Bellator. The Brazilian has now won eight in a row in MMA. Alexandre, 37, last competed for ONE in November, falling to Nieky Holzken by second-round knockout in a kickboxing match.

Thoughts?
What I find interesting the most is that ONE FC's weight cutting rules prevented Sage from competing at any weight under 185...

Mighty Mouse had no problem obviously he has been in the right weight class... I wonder how many fighters would have to move up if the UFC implemented these rules????

Thoughts?
Are one's kickboxing bouts mixed in with the mma bouts, or do they do them on their own sub-card like like prelims/main card for the UFC?

Is Kunlun Fight done? Does anybody know, I haven't heard anything from them in months and their youtube page hasn't added a video in some time either.

Honestly it was a bad fight for Sage. Cosmo is no joke. He's a legit fucking striker and one of the more dangerous opponents Sage has faced.

Hey everyone look at this MMA expert.
Lol that gif was the most MMA I have watched all year.
Cosmo is probably the best traditional muay Thai fighter in Brazil and has fought pretty much all the top guys in kickboxing and some of the best farangs in MT (I mentioned JWP).
It’s more an indictment of the fans where they know so little about what their watching that they just have to see a brand name and assume that guy is the better fighter.

Don’t hook with a hooker!
Tbf it looked more like a straight that cosmo just got a little wild with infusing it with bad intentions. So maybe don’t strike with a striker... but Cosmo pretty much had his number he was fighting in a much lower stance I assume to dissuade takedowns and his laser precise knees are a pretty strong warning against takedowns aswell.
Sage just got outclassed by a much better fighter. His reaction to forward pressure was just to go straight back and when he hit the ropes he just walked into the power with no posture or guard so he got demolished by the pat vicious right.
I would wager Cosmo didn’t expect that to be the end either as he pivoted with the right to set up a left hook or upper but sage was already done.

Or Sage could have looked for the takedown from the get go and not tested the stand up.

Probably should have just stuck with engineering school.
