I think I prefer the ring to the cage for MMA too. Seems easier to pressure a fighter and changes the dynamic of grappling.

It may mess with Mighty Mouse a bit. A lot of the Pride guys said it was hard to adjust to a cage so I imagine if you've fought in a cage your whole career a ring will throw you off...It is a modified ring though those ropes aren't flimsy.

It may mess with Mighty Mouse a bit. A lot of the Pride guys said it was hard to adjust to a cage so I imagine if you've fought in a cage your whole career a ring will throw you off...It is a modified ring though those ropes aren't flimsy.

I think you're right. Sage got KO'd pretty easily trying to move around the ring.

Don't confuse Halsey's flimsiness with the ring's flimsiness. Halsey's "performance" against Jiri was embarrassing.

Sage got fed to the wolves lol that was quite a mismatch. Sage actually has a good double leg that should have been his gameplan....or was that a pure kickboxing match. I forget. I know he said he was going to do both.

But even in the first GIF, look how flimsy the ropes look compared to today's ring. And look at the loose rope the fighter gets his glove stuck in compared to how ONE has a cover over it today.

Its seems more sturdy. Can't say that it looks better though. Having ring-ropes by the combatants faces is just throwing me off.

I think it was MMA but Sage relied on his Karate then seemed lost moving along the ring when pressured. Nasty KO.
