News On the Day of His Retirement Jon Jones Charged with Fleeing the Scene of an Accident in Albuquerque, NM (Update W/ Cam Footage).

So is this timing with the retirement a coincidence, or was this the final straw for the UFC to covertly strip him and claim it was a retirement and have him put out that Chat GPT statement?
As ive said before I think said to sign tge aspinall fight by a certain date or he's stripped .

The retirement thing is just his way of saving face.

People were calling the woman's story kinda flaky in the other thread, which is certainly true for her "Jon was driving me" bit, but the way this is written seems to suggest the police were directly on hand for the threatening comments, (which is also a Jon standard) so it seems like if they can just confirm the number she called as Jon Jones, which doesn't take much detective work, they can get him for terroristic threats as well / at least
Deport him!

i feel sorry for his wife...

In the words of the wise man and generational wordsmith Tito Ortiz...

"Just to correct you, there was never no marriage."

As far as I know, while they have at least 4 children together, Jon and his baby mama have never been married. It is possible that they are legally common law married, but as of fairly recently he was still calling her his "girlfriend" or "fiancée" but never wife.

Quite a guy he is.

Pathetic excuse for a human being overall. The Barry Bonds of MMA, but much worse. I'm sure we'll hear updates on what he thinks on twitter between minor jail stints for years to come.

DC read a police report which stated that Jon Jones called that woman's phone 13x following the accident. So it would appear they may already have confirmed it was (at least) his phone.

My layman's understanding of the law give me the impression that his statement that he could have a hitman kill her would fall under the criminal code for "Menacing"

Menacing in New Mexico is punishable by fine up to $5000 and up to 18 months incarceration.

That would be in addition to:

Leaving the scene of an accident**

** Leaving the scene of an accident to avoid a DWI in many states is legally punishable by way of being charged with the DWI/DUI and automatically receiving the highest/maximum punishment. (I believe this happened to Pat Militech)

And this is a repeat offense as Jon has AT LEAST 2 prior incidents involving leaving the scene of a dwi accident .

#1 when he crashed his Bently with 2 chicks in it
#2 when he crashed into the pregnant chick

Jon is rich, so I guess you never know, but normally this would prison time for sure.

Who said anything about steroids?

Seriously though: there is only one witness who admits 1) she was really drunk at the time, 2) she was really high at the time, 3) she was really pantsless at the time, and 4) she really can't remember anything that happened at the time but also says she remembers Jon driving her car sometime, maybe at the time, who knows? Without Jon's history, no prosecutor would even file this case. As is, they're just hoping he agrees to a lengthy license suspension in exchange for dropping the charges.

None of which is to say that I believe that Jon is innocent; he probably isn't, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a particularly crappy misdemeanor case with little chance of getting a conviction.

Are we talking about the same thing? Didn't she call JJ while the cops were present and he hinted that he could pay someone to hurt her or worse?

Someone yelled "it's Tom Aspinall!!" That's why Jon ran.
