Goals & Gains Oliver - Grind hard Go Strong

1 hour sparring class done. Can't say I was really good. Need to work on my fitness a lot. People today seemed pretty strong. I need to train daily, rise early. Feels like cardio is the most important thing. When you're tired there is nothing you can do, or not much. And I got tired.
 
I got exactly 1:12 to give myself hell for gassing out like a bitch yesterday. Than I gotta shower and the gym is closed. Hell will be hot now.

Just train brainlessly hard and fxck everyone in comparsion. Respectfully of course. Just compete with yourself from 2 days ago. Or as they would say in Dota reddit - gid gud scrub.

figured I´m done with combat sports, just gonna hit the bags a bit and just do fitness. Can´t afford to do damage. So yep for now I´m done. There´s other things to do. Health first. Without health there is nothing. Might not update this log or just sporadically drop in for some updates.

last thursday did 2 sparring classes consecutively, kickboxing - boxing. Tomorrow the kickboxing one. It´s normal to sometimes quit. For a day or two. For a year. But if you come back, it´s yours for life.

I didn´t even quit that day from training. My friend called me up and talked bout his health problems, not from sports, he generally got 60% invalidity even though you can´t notice it when you see him. That got me into the wrong kinda thoughts.

Wow I just droped 225 onto my chest fron 1/3 height. After +1 hour training I decided to still do 225, first did 185. 3rd rep it sliped entirely out of my wrists onto my lower chest uper ribs. Good I never went for that 130 kg max. Dangerous. If it slips from high ir onto your neck or face you are dead. Obviously 225 and more is normaly done at the start fresh. Good lesson. I think my wrist muscles gave out and it sliped. Did mixed S&C before this. Good I'm not hurt let's keep training. First time in 22 years a bar sliped out of my hands. Stupid shit. I re-racked it myself noone even noticed it.

I've seen people use straps for bench press and I have tried it myself and while it seems goofy at first I don't think it's so crazy after all....especially given an incident like this...

Maybe use chalk?

Did you use thumbless grip?

I just need to do it when my muscles are not tired. Hands wrists arms were probably too tired and gave out for a split second. In 22 years only instance this happened. I never bench heavy after 1 hour but at the start. So learned my lesson.
 
Just did a noone kickbox class. My cardio is good now. But I was of balance during one combo drill, the trainer told me, I lunged forward and was off balance. Guy is 3-4 inches taller than me, when he low kicks I need to counter into it with a cross than lead hook low kick. But he is so tall I can't catch him so I waded forward with the combo. I mean he is out of reach 6'4 or something like that. Cry cry






My knees need rest. Not pain but I feel my left knee is worn a bit inflamed. Thursday sparring class. Besides that I'll do some more lifiting and swimming. To see if my knee comes back to 100 %.

My left foot is pretty good now, I had hit a block and my shin guard probably slipped. That hurt. I screamed. Now it's pretty good 10 days later. But def want my knee to be 100%.

I'm still kinda fat. Though perception depends mostly on lighting in the mirror.

94 kg would be a great weight for me.

Still at 111 kg.

And I need a very good sleep tonight. Woke up early.
 
I been a good boy and trained hard alone in the MMA gym. And plan on going to my fitness studio later too. Very good boy.
 
Let's see how many 100 kg reps I get. My left glute is kinda torn, hurts walking and laying down on the bench. Gonna take a few days to recover. In any case thursday sparring day. Till then do push pull split and depending on this pull ad in whole body movements / cardio.

Gonna give it all for one set and see how many reps I get. Gonna burn out and won't have any more hard BP sets after it. Then diverse push work, maybe some 80 kg BP. I predict 11 reps. Let's see brb to write a update edit.

Result - only got 10. Trying to gradually use wider grip. Too used to close but long term wider grip will net more weight. Not that it really matters. Work is work. I improved my shape a lot overal and cardio wise. Huge leaps in cardio. My max strength is a bit worse now.

You get better at bench by benching twice a week for half an hour. Max effort and weight. Just half hour of sets. But not a priority right now.

Started doing 6 cigs stead of 8. Give it time to come to 0. Or come to ocassional and not daily. Just discipline. Not go above 6 anymore no matter what.

Caught a flue and had a deload so to say cause of it. Now I'm back did 2 sessions yesterday.





Missed 2 sparring days. Thursday gonna get the hour of sparring and sunday meet up with a friend who does pro boxing, K1 and Muay Thai to spar and train too. So catch it up.

Today feeling the workouts but gonna do antoher gym session more on the weights side to rest my cns and hop in the sauna finally which I always put off but today is a good day for it. And since I need to rest a bit also go for 15-20 minutes mobility - stretch in that one small room that has mobility equipement. It's actually leg day. Thinking squats, zercher, test my left knee if it's good, didn't squat in a super long time. Lunges and land mine excercises will be great. Nothing too much, not too intensee hit intervals.Get primed for tomorrow see how I feel. Tomorrow should be a kickboxing class.

Today perhaps go looking for fitting boxing shoes and a second pair of boxing gloves. Gonna get 2 more gloves to have 3 for hygienic reasons. Maybe another Muay Thai shorts in a new color.
