Oliveira tears Topuria a new one

Both guys walk forward. Ilia is a tremendous hammer but what if he is forced to become the nail. If Charles forces Ilia onto the backfoot I think he has a good chance of putting Ilia away.
He was. He got rocked good against Jai Herbert then came back and KTFO'ed him shortly thereafter.

He knocked him out a round later but was really struggling for the rest of the round and lunged in for the takedown immediately after getting rocked. Herbert was a bum, he tries that kind of move on Charles good chance he gets guillotined or D'Arce choked.

If you wanna go by their bad moments I can easily bring up Olive getting punched in the head repeatedly and getting rocked by 40 year old, steroid gut Chandler.

I favor Ilia but Olive might be able to have a chance if he doesn't go for those stupid, defenseless flying knees with his hands down and applies a grappling heavy game and creates some scrambles and maybe latches onto a sub in midst of all the chaos.

Ilia is short and this has resulted in him getting caught with head kicks in the past and Olive has some good kicks so that could also be on the table.

The best thing Olive can do is make it to round 3. I think his size advantage could be valuable if it goes that far.

He was struggling with Jai Hervert for two rounds and Oliveira is much bigger. Dehydraded Holloway schooled Topuria for 3 rounds untill he got KO’d. Hydraded Oliveira is different caliber than zombie holloway at 145. Mark my words Oliveira finishes Topuria and sends him back to 145
Okay I've marked your words, now what? Hydrated Oliveira, Zombie Holloway, zombie apocalypse, whatever the F...Topuria is better than any of them bar none.

You could also argue that Oliveira is better than Adriano Martins, yet one of them KO’d Islam and the other didn’t.

Holloway schooled Topuria for 3 rounds? What fight were you watching? Ilia won two rounds and then got the KO in the 3rd.

Ilia gets his shit pushed in almost every fight before he lands KO punch. He was losing agsindt Volk, zombie spocalypse Max and Herbert. You will see difference in their size and skill level saturday.

Charles is an amazing grappler overall, but he's not that great of a wrestler. I'm not certain he can get Ilia down off a takedown. Ilia defended 8 of 9 Bryce Mitchell's takedown attempts for reference to a recent fight. Ilia also took down Holloway. He's not Gaethje or Poirier. Charles also seems too willing to play the bottom game which loses rounds.

But Charles definitely has all the tools on the feet to win striking wise. He also should probably go clinch heavy and try to tire Ilia out or even get a standing submission if he can. Taking some of his cardio away and lessening his KO power could pay dividends.

Charles gets rocked easily, but i always have to remember Conor power at 145 didn't translate at 155. He went from KO artist to couldn't finish his burger at 155+.

So that makes two of them in the cage saturday.

Ilia didn’t get out struck badly in any of those fights if you look at the metrics.

Did you just say Holloway schooled Topuria for three rounds with a straight face? That fight had a constant feeling of inevitability about it. It was clear a matter of when not if.

On the other hand, he will not avoid following Charles to the ground if he knocks him down either like others do which allows Charles to recover. This is a very interesting matchup.

Max only landed 4 more significant strikes according to ufc stats too.
