OLED TV’s

I just bought one 55 inch for my room.

Love it. ant tips for image optimization? I got the LG OLED 4K SMART OLED TV

This set still leaves me in awe. Definitely shines best with 4K blu rays and gaming but really any content on it is a huge step up from my LED. I’ve been going through Game of Thrones and all the dark lit scenes look incredible. I feel like I’m watching content the way it was actually meant to be viewed.

Incredibly happy with my purchase.

Checked out that Will Smith movie with his twin or whatever. Not a great movie but good enough to watch and it looks incredible on my 4k HDR.

Movie is pretty average but the technology behind it is astounding. The director blew my mind with the Life of Pi, he really pushes movie tech to the max.

The first movie I watched on 4K Blu ray when I got my OLED was Lucy, a dumb fun action film but the disc is reference worthy. Amazing HDR.

About to purchase an OLED online through BestBuy. Do you all think geek squad is worth it? $199 for two years.

I've had a really nice Sony one for about 2 years now and I love it, haven't seen any burn in issue either.

Have I mentioned how tits this set is?

Into the Spider-Verse in 4K was mind blowing. Buy an OLED right now.

lolz, i should get a new tv sometime. and since this thread is about burn-in... mine's not a oled, but having bloomberg on in the mornings gave my tv a permanent black bar across the bottom. oddly enough, many people can't see it but it's VERY obvious to me.

i have sensitive eyes, and always wondered how much our eyes affected things like our perception/etc of refresh rate/response time and etc... (since my first lcd monitor ever, which was a migraine machine)

and yeah, i find it funny that tvs are so far behind monitors - i didn't think the new consoles would come out before TVs caught up.

I vaguely remember seeing an article saying something better than OLED is coming soon.
You’re probably talking about micro LED. It’s not in any mass produced TVs that I’m aware of yet. I think the picture quality is roughly equivalent to OLED, but has better longevity.

being that it’s not even being sold yet, we are years away from it entering the conversation

Happy to hear that, OLED still freaks me out though. I'm satisfied with my 65" QLED tv because I know it won't get burn in. I play a lot of rpg games so I'm always afraid of the health bars and stuff burning in.

The picture quality does seem nicer on OLED though

I run the pixel refresher when I turn it off if I’m watching ESPN or something for hours like I was last night for the fights. I honestly don’t think about it most of the time though. My content is varied enough to where I can’t ever see it being a problem.

The manual one? You only need to do that once a year tops, after 4 hours of continuous use the TV runs one automatically when you turn it to standby after use and a larger scale one at every 2000hours total use

Does it? That’s good to know.

It's a shame LPD (Laser Phosphor Display) monitors are only used in professional display capacities or projectors.
