Looks good, but is that set to the same settings as the pics? Not just 4K, but 4K with the other post-processing effects. Just from visual inspection, it doesn't seem like it.
Huh? Bro, that's crazytalk. The XSX screenshot there is obviously the best.
The superior richness and range of the color palette is just striking, it's like comparing the best possible frame from a dynamic sequence showing off the highest-end HDR out there vs. SDR. Next, look at how sharp the reflections are in the tiles on the floor. The RTX floor is dead. There's no lights bouncing off it. It doesn't look ray-traced to me while the XSX one clearly is. This one is all about lighting. You can see it in the color, contrasts, reflections, and shadows. The XSX screenshot is shitting on the other two.
The only place where the RTX image maybe looks better is a bit more texture detailing around (like just above) the columns on the wall. It appears the contrast that lets you see the reliefs is getting washed out a bit.
I'm assuming you're trolling, but I'm just reminding people not to work too hard to see things that aren't there. This isn't one of those screenshot comparisons where it's so difficult to discern differences you find yourself overthinking it. The winner is plain to the eye.
That "higher particle counts than PC Ultra" is a little annoying. There should not be a single thing on the XBOX version that isn't available on PC. If so, that means they have purposefully hamstrung the PC versions capabilities in order to pump up the XBOX.
I have no doubt what he says is true, but it isn't explaining the discrepancy in images between his Ultra example and the XSX screenshot.Did you read the Tweet from Alex of Digital Foundries that Lucha posted a bit above you? Alex knows more about video game lighting and reflections than just about anyone and this is what he said:
So while you may subjectively think the XSX shot looks better than the RTX 3090 shot objectively it actually lacks something that allows the 3090 to more realistically render reflections. The flooring in the XSX pic might look shinier, literally, but it actually shouldn’t. So no, the PC version’s graphics have not been nerfed in any way and are objectively still better than the XSX.
It does. I'd be more than happy to run a discrete thread with a poll for this. I would even label each photo with a number instead of the system in an attempt to remove bias.
I can tell you which screenshot would run away with the victory.

There is a level of optimization above the traditional "Ultra" settings the XSX is being afforded that isn't showing up. Obviously particles have nothing to do with this screenshot, but if what he is saying is true, then one could easily reproduce the screenshot in Ultra on PC, where the SSR operates at this allegedly lower level of detail, and you'd get the same supra-glossy reflections. He shows a side-by-side with a higher level of glossiness, but it has the same muted colors, despite the lighting supposedly being no different, and it otherwise just doesn't match the pop in the XSX screenshot. It's not an issue of brightness. The light source itself is more powerful, or there are other factors influencing the difference.
Look at how there is no broken line of light running down the PC Ultra floor. It really looks to me like there is some kind of software-based ray-tracing the Coalition would have had to implement through the Microsoft API (since it's not an NVIDIA card). If they only did this for the RDNA 2.0 architecture, NVIDIA PC GPUs wouldn't benefit. Either that or they just added more light sources.
I'm aware of the casual bias for oversaturated colors from years of smartphone camera comparisons. Not what I'm seeing. They put extra effort into this optimization.

Relevant to the PS5 as well,
Relevant to the PS5 as well,
Yes, the answer to the RTX 3000 series from NVIDIA, and the first cards they're going to release of the identical architecture on which the XSX/XSS and PS5 are built (RDNA 2.0).Isn't there going to be new AMD cards coming out soon? There's an AMD event on the 28th. Maybe because of the Directx 12 partnership, Coalition isn't able to go public with it just yet.

The insane settings has those screen-space reflections like the picture of the XSX version.
The XSX shot contrast and saturation is pumped up too much. I don't care about the ray tracing reflections. They look stupid and fake and overly emphasized in that shot. That does not look realistic at all. Maybe you are trolling? Take a basic photography class.
Turning on too fast?!
