Xbox Official Xbox thread

"More importantly, this thing is quiet. It’s almost inaudible when it's idle, and in Red Dead Redemption 2, for instance, it’s still pretty quiet – much more so than the Xbox One X, which gets noticeably louder under full GPU load. We’ll see how its acoustics are when I’ve got new games to put all 12 teraflops to use... It also boots up from an always-on state almost instantly, and obviously faster than Xbox One X. Cold boot, too, is also a lot quicker than the One X, taking about 10-12 seconds compared to almost a minute for the One X."

An announcement about xCloud coming to iOS could be on the horizon according to recent rumours.

Windows Central journalist Jez Corden has replied to a series of different tweets that seem to suggest news could be on the way regarding xCloud on iOS. In one tweet regarding Bethesda games on different platforms in the future, Corden dropped the suggestion of using an iOS device, which could be hinting at as yet unannounced news that Microsoft's Cloud streaming service may be coming to the App Store in the future.

Quick resume sounds cool, even if I’m not in the habit of playing 3-4 games at a time. Is there any info on where that stuff gets stored? Does it eat up memory like having multiple tabs open?

The enhancements to older titles is pretty sweet as well.

Good box.

@Madmick

How fast does RDR2 load on PC with an SSD? Do some games still take longer than 30 seconds to load?
It's been months and I never bothered to time it, but 30-40 seconds like on the X sounds about right. It was slower than a lot of recent games but not terrible, from what I remember.

Man, the PS5 better be able to hit and keep a steady 60 on Sekiro. That game needs it more than anything I’ve ever played.

I guess loading times are going to be different since everyone isn't loading into the exact same areas.

Would love to know the load times for GTA Online and Red Dead Online. Those games take minutes to load in on my One S.

I don't really like GTA online but my cousin wanted to get on and try it out. I turned that shit off and told him to call me when he wants to play something else. I can't believe how long that shit was loading for.

Transferring AC Origins (49GB) from different drives. The external SSD here is just a regular one.

Those are minutes. Not such a big deal after all especially if you got a regular external SSD.
