Lol so every “console exclusive” also noted it was coming to PC as well.

Every Xbox first party game is going to be coming out on PC as well. They don't give a shit which platform you buy it on. Same with Game Pass.

That still makes it a console exclusive. Timed exclusives on the other hand..

I wonder how much of these timed exclusives are only because the X Series might be coming out a bit earlier than PS5.

Many said console launch exclusive which basically means PS5 also.
Tricksy
To be fair this has always been known. Everything MS releases is coming to PC now. This is a good thing for gamers. We don't have to buy PC's,Xbox, Sony, and Nintendo to enjoy all gaming has to offer anymore. Just get 3 of them and there is no game you can't play.
I didn’t say anything about the merits of exclusivity. It’s very misleading to differentiate by saying “console exclusive” as if it’s a reason you need to get a next gen Xbox.

I'm not buying an Xbox for game pass alone. In fact it seems they really are pushing that because I think they know they can't compete with Sony in terms of quality games. I'll be buying a PS5 at launch and possible an Xbox in 2022 or later if they have a decent lineup

So gamepass is amazing from a consumer perspective, but how the hell does Microsoft make money by putting brand new games on there?

I'm not so sure that they do right now. I would think right now this is more of an investment phase but I don't know.

Obviously they know more about it than I ever will, but disincentivizing people from buying new 1st party games just seems like bad business.

Indeed, it's all about gamepass for them. I like the strategy, it's great value too.

I don't have an Xbox (won't be buying one either), but I subscribe to gamepass on PC. I use it just enough to warrant the monthly charge, and it's always dropping new surprises; looks like it's going to get even better. When they bought all those studios a few years ago, it's finally paying off for them, on top of 3rd part support.

I'm especially excited for a new Fable. I didn't even know they were planning it, looks like a reboot too. Obsidan's medieval RPG looks interesting. I don't like isometric RPG's, so i'm glad they're making a 3d fantasy one. I'm pumped Outer World's DLC!

Halo looked good, but I wasn't blown away, and I liked that "Medium" game, looks like Silent Hill/Resident Evil. I always like a 3rd person survival horror game, with a shapely female protag in tight jeans :D

Gamerpass sucks. I was playing a game and then 2 months later it wasn’t part of it. I couldn’t finish the game.

Games didn’t look impressive. PS5 fo sho.

Damn, that was a letdown. Microsoft's best franchises are basically ones that aren't being worked on by the original studios that made them good. Halo, Gears, Fable. I think Sony is going to spank Microsoft again.

So far, everything also says it is releasing on PC. So I still have not seen a reason for the Xbox.
So far nothing to me screams need series x.

Especially with game pass ultimate and xcloud...

That's what a "Console Exclusive" is.

Again, the number of gamers who own both a gaming-class PC and a console are a tiny niche. Every game that isn't on the PS5 is an effective exclusive to the Xbox for the overwhelming majority of prospective console buyers. The PS5 doesn't get to claim the PC library as its own. The cheapest method to get these games on the other side of that wall, ironically, would be for a PS5 owner to buy an XSX.

Game Pass is hands down the best service in gaming. You could have just bought that game (for 20% off via the Xbox store price if you liked) and continued playing your save state. Then unsubscribed if that was the only game you cared about. PS Now any every other service that maintains a rotating library will sometimes do this.

Game Pass is a first party service. How does Netflix make money for movie studios when people aren't buying Blu-Rays?

Subscriptions, subscriptions, subscriptions.
