Xbox Official Xbox thread

Lol... The whole Series X gameplay reveal reminds of when the UFC would always tease a big announcement during the tale end of the Zuffa days. They would make it sound like something huge and it would just end up being a new line of Reebok fight kits, or something lame like that.

Can these guys stop using the word gameplay?

TLOU II trailer shits on everything they showed. Utterly embarrassing and they have the gall to call them [gameplay] lmao...

For such a powerful console, I expected to see something that wowed me and was a console exclusive. What happened to Scalebound?

Just watched, mostly "In engine" and in development target or whatever. Pitched as gameplay. Meh.

Edit I suppose also most games with real gameplay are cross gen as well.

It's ded. Cancelled like 2018, though some rumors that it was still being worked on. but they reconfirmed this year it isn't being worked on.

Fuck that looked interesting.

I watched it, about what I expected from the multiplat reveals but I understand people being pissed about the “gameplay” aspect. Next months first party showcase should be better but expect more trailers than actual gameplay.

They needed this guy's magic to make this event a success.

Why in the fucking heavens Microsoft allowed this shit? A bunch of shitty third party announcements, and Assassins Creed 25 Game of Thrones fake gameplay wtf.

I know they said they weren't gonna show anything big or exclusive, but why link the Series X to it?

Uncle Phil must be bored in quarantine and wanted to get out some content before July to get ahead of Sony's reveal next month. To bad it was meh titles (Scorn really? That game was announced like 5 years ago lol), 3rd party fluff pieces, and "gameplay" reveals.

Yeah, nothing to write home about.

I liked that Bright Memory Infinite tough, the gameplay is frenetic but if you pay attention, you can see everything people was talking about all this time, HDR, Ray Tracing, Variable Rate Shading, everything together. But the game is nothing all platforms will be able to do, so, I don't see the point in linking the Series X to it.

They said they will show the big guns in July, and imo, it should come first.

At least they're aware they shit the bed: https://www.gamesradar.com/microsof...eries-x-gameplay-reveal-says-aaron-greenberg/

Xbox has been pumping out news nonstop lately. Must be part of their strategy to just keep themselves in the headlines. It was working out well until this happened.

Something tells me this may very well be the first new console generation where the difference between the last (in terms of visuals) is barely, if at all perceivable.

Literally nothing I'm seeing in the official reveal screams to me "This is the future!" or makes me go, "Wow, that is stunning. I can't imagine the PS4 or Xbox One ever being able to pull that off."

I understand of course that there's so much more to gaming than graphics (shit, I still play the original DOOM games like crazy), but to see such a small step up in visuals is incredibly disappointing to me.

Think back to what it was like going from the Sega Genesis and SNES into the 3D worlds of PS1/N64. Or the incredible leap after that to the Dreamcast/PS2 (and eventually Xbox). Or the giant step up to the PS3/360, with loads of fancy shaders and effects that were never seen on the older consoles. I feel the PS4/Xbox One was a much smaller improvement, but it was still noticeable--you could definitely look at a large percentage of those games and realize the last generation couldn't handle them unless they were severely dumbed down.

I'm just not seeing that here with the Xbox Series X. Yeah, sure, it's going to have a much higher resolution. And there will of course be ray-tracing here and there (and probably in most titles by the end of its lifespan). But that alone just isn't enough to get me giddy like with most of the previous console generations.

I agree I think the difference will be small but in end that's ok with me. I'm in the middle of playing FF7 and even now it still looks great. I'm ok with graphics not really improving much beyond this. What I would like to see is better load times for games, faster OS, and other features like that.

I also can't get over how Microsoft has shown NOTHING of Halo Infinite. No gameplay no real details and it's coming this holiday?? What the hell?

Either it's going to be a huge disappointment OR they are being very strange in how they are going to present it.

I'm over halo after the way those hacks butchered the last one. Halo peaked at Reach for me even though I did enjoy 4 a bit.

Has it been confirmed for this holiday? I know that’s what they were hoping.
