Anyways i'm glad she's back. Kaufman tweeted that she'd be interested in a fight with Cat. That would be one hell of a tune up.

Seems Kaufman is looking to trick people into fighting her by asking to be the "Tune up fight" or rather the "Tuna Fish Fight" as Kedzie quipped.

I never said they were. I only asked if that was the guy. Cat and Mauricio were separated and Cat was involved with another man at the time Mauricio was found dead.

Wow! Really? I never heard anything about that at the time his death was reported; and that`s usually when people are snooping around and looking for causes (of suicide). If true, you`d have to think it played a part in his death. It would also change how people view Cat (she gets only sympathy now, but...). What a bombshell - where did you get that info from, Brokensproket?

@Thirdpres: thanks for the Tiburcio fights. I`m looking forward to seeing her fight at 105. I think she`ll be a force to be reckoned with there.

I think Sarah Kaufman would beat the pretty out of Gina Carano...that would be the worst possible "tune up" fight for Gina (just Sarah tuning up her fists on Gina`s face), but....

@SevarianB...I think there is money to be made in a Gina-Miesha fight. It might be a way to stretch Carano's money-making potential into two fights instead of just one...provided she can get by Tate.

AAAAANNNNDDDD...it seems like everyone knows there will be an Invicta event in late June, but they just won`t come out and say it. Ironically, if they end up broadcasting it on some American cable channel and not streaming it anymore, us overseas fans will no longer be able to watch it. And that would suck balls. In their endless, delaying, WTF-is-going-on? quest to secure some kind of TV deal, they may end up driving away a lot of fans (like me) who can ONLY watch it through streaming.

In several of the breaking articles reported that they were seperated and Cat. One or two of them even reported that Cat was involved with another man which is why they were seperated.

Under these circumstances, I have always been suspicious of this 'alleged' suicide. I cannot fathom a true marial artist would ever commit suicide. I got flamed here on Sherdog for being suspicious. Nothing was allowed but sympathy for Cat.

That is certainly a possibility. Hate seeing Rakoczy fight someone that much bigger then her but that is what happens when you have someone who walks around at 136 fighting at 135 but Dufresne is still big for the division.

I'd like to see Rakoczy fight someone who would try and stand with her some.

And I still wonder how well Dufresne will make weight, or if, or anything else related to it. Maybe her missing weight by 15lbs in her last fight will be an aberration.

Kaufman would be a tough fight for Carano for sure. Kaufman came out the best she has been in years against Leslie Smith in her last fight, would like to see her get another fight in soon.

Invicta did mention that they want to pull a deal where they can still stream their events overseas so as not to making watching their events tough overseas.

I hope they can keep to that plan but who knows.

Kyra Batara has announced, along with RFA, that she will be fighting on RFA 15 against Rosa Acevedo (1-1-0) US. Acevedo had had a fight lined up against Amy Cadwell-Montenegro (3-0-0) US but that fight fell apart after the TUF 20 tryout.

Here is Kyra Batara's pro debt against Misha Nassiri (1-1-0) US at 105lbs.



Kyra Batara's only defeat in MMA is an ammy fight against newly turned pro Katie Howard who is already 2-1 at 115lbs and set to fight upwards of two more times in the coming several weeks.

But does anyone think it may be possible that deal with UFC/tv or whatever combination they call it or strike it that they may be having an all women fight card (invicta) followed buy the premier of the show Tuf20??? Cast members haven't been released yet and Invicta date not anoounced? Can this be the big announcement??

I hope Rakoczy fights at strawweight. She fought at 122 in a boxing match a bit over a year ago, and I don't think she cut any weight to make 132 at the TUF finale. A fight with her vs Angela Hill would be swell.

Rakoczy can't make 115.

She put her health at serious risk in her last weight cut to 122 for that boxing match. The lowest weight Rakoczy can fight at in MMA, where she should be fighting, is at 125. (I've heard this from people who know Rakoczy there in Vegas and train with her in bjj and who are in the boxing/mma media business who know her.)

If you poke around the older Women's MMA Discussion threads this subject has come up before and it was explained then. Just giving you a heads up on it.

I'd be extremely surprised if, some how, she ended up trying to fight at 115 based on my previous information.

Thanks and you're welcome pometheus. I hadn't gotten around to checking for that fight today. I've been keeping an eye out for it the last several days, watched a little but if Crisano's fight with Wawro again just for something to do.

I like seeing the bigger women getting some fights. I was a little disappointed that Kelly Faszholz dropped out of that fight with Elkin but Amanda Bell was a great replacement.

Mind = blown. That would be amazing/cool/crazy, but who knows? The TUF 20 season will get massive ratings (I predict) and for Invicta to in any way associate themselves with that show would really help in my opinion.

@Brokensproket. Well, you got my attention. I`m listening to you. It might be one of those things that literally can`t be proven true or false, as the parties involved will never confess and if they deny it will only look fishy. It would make that already tragic tale somehow even worse, though.

About Rakoczy at 115; yeah, unlikely. She is part of that group of true 125ers (like Rosi, Barb, Carina or even Zoila); they look tiny at 135 and they look really unhealthy if they try to cut to 115. I still think TUF 20 will be such a resounding success for the UFC that they will add another female division at the end of the year; and I think that will be the 125ers. If the UFC had 115, 125,and 135 pound divisions, there would be a lot less "weight-jumping".

P.S. Just re-watched Zoila vs. Jag. I seem to remember that fight being closer, but boy Zoila got worked. She lost, and it was written all over her face! Funny how the fans were booing that decision. Also, the post-fight interview with both Megumi and Zoila was also interesting; Meg looks totally "un-worried" about facing Zoila. You can tell she would rather fight Zoila than Jag in the final. Little did she know...
