Invicta seems to have a new policy of giving title shots to anyone from Japan as long as their record is at least mediocre.

They should have given the title shot to Bennett.

3 of 5 from Jewels got title shots in their Invicta debut.

Bennett just fought in September, I think she wanna a full camp for a title fight, and Honchak has to fight asap.
Pretty sure the champ will face Bennett.

Making these "intercontinental champ vs. champ superfights" helps even Invicta FC to take time and build up contenders a bit more (btw in Invicta a fighter could need just one win to become a contender, IMHO the SW title bout should had been Katja vs. Inoue, not Eggink).

Definitely would have been short notice, but women tend to like fighting frequently since it's not like they make enough money to only fight two to three times a year. It should have at least been offered to her (though TBF, we don't know if it was). She's clearly the #1 contender at this point out of the short list of FLW fighters on Invicta's roster, and the main event is once again rather disappointing.

On a positive note though, the short amount time between IFC 8 and 9 is promising. Hopefully they can keep it up.

My sarcasm was unappreciated, but my point is still completely valid: neither one of them can make 115.

BigMuffler`s got it right....so Rin couldn`t put Miesha into any serious trouble, at the same time Rin was in no danger of being finished by the #2 BW in the world. No reason to push the panic button and send Rin to another division. She just needs to get better. As yourselves this question: out of all the BWs signed to the UFC, which one has had the least quality training in a quality gym with quality sparring partners? Rin (or, maybe Milana). She can still get a lot better. And, if Rin were to face someone without Tate`s wrestling pedigree next, like DeRandamie or Holm, she might take `em down easy and run riot over them.

P.S. Wow!? Takayo Hashi vs. Barb Honchak? Invicta just can`t seem to find great opponents for Barb. They better have a Bennet-Ansaroff bout on the same card (winner gets title shot in early 2015).

If she went to a quality gym the first they would probably do is try to get to drop weight classes. Dolce gets her to 115 no probs.

Could she make 115 if she dropped a bunch of muscle? Sure.

Could Ronda make 125 if she dropped a bunch of muscle, or could JDS make 205 if he dropped a bunch of muscle? Also sure. It's not necessarily optimal and I think we pick a little too much on fighters who are short in this regard.

Rin can still be like a female Monson or Palhares at this weight and it's not like she hasn't already dropped a weight class before, asking for 2 more might be a bit early and much.

Here's the full Invicta 9 card.
