Official Women's Division Discussion #27

I am super sad about Invicta PPV, that's it - no more Invicta for me then. And Invicta was the reason I started paying (extra, beyond my regular sports package that brings me UFC for free (cause i'd pay it anyway, for Premier League)) for MMA in the first place. There is absolutely no way I will start paying for "Fite TV" stuff, they probably don't even have a sensible website, let alone a smart tellyvision app.

If I had to find a single word for this? FUCK

And, even if they have a website or even an app that works, the name "Fite TV" is enough to skip the Invicta PPVs.

:(

This is from their press release when Anthem acquired them:

Fans can look forward to a wide variety of Invicta events, including world championship fight nights, the popular Phoenix Series© tournaments, tentpole pay-per-view events plus behind the scenes shoulder programming.

As the world emerges from the pandemic, Anthem plans to steadily increase the number of Invicta FC shows across AXS TV, digital streaming platforms and standalone pay-per-view supercards.

They'll still do cards on AXS TV/YouTube. The PPVs are probably going to be quarterly.

One thing people have to understand is that Invicta was sold to Anthem. They are the ones that are calling the shots, they are the ones that deciding to go to pay-per-view at this point right now.

We all have a strong feeling the pay-per-view numbers are going to be horribly low, even so Invicta will still is come back with another event after this on AXS TV because AXS needs the programming.

Anthem still owns Impact Wrestling and they ran through a lot of money putting on weekly events with no live audience/gate.

Didn’t realize so many were hard up for money, complaining about $20, which gets you four UFC vets, a former Bellator title challenger, and a load of prospects. Pack a lunch for work a couple days on fight week, and skip the McDonald’s or whatever you prefer. Maybe I just value my time more than money lately <Fedor23>

Desktop equivalent for old fucks who have trouble with smart phones?
On your desktop just google fite tv. Click on the site and bookmark it for further reference. From that site you should be able to sign up and pay.

Once you’ve paid it should then enable you to use the site to watch all you want (except for the pay per view events, which will require extra moolah to watch).

Haven’t signed up yet but looked at it today & that’s how it appears to work. That’s how espn+ and fight pass work so I presume it’s similar.

Hope that helps.

Can I watch non - pay per view Invicta fights on fite tv? I just want to be able to watch it all in one place.

beat me to it purplestorm! sigh... i think the hourglass is running out on suarez being the next big thing... if she had the WSW title then we'd see even less title defenses than rose (right rizz? ;))

Sad to hear that Tatiana Suarez has withdrawn from ufc 266.

There's a thread on it here.

Yeah I'm afraid time isn't on her side werepig. She won TUF right when I was beginning to watch mma. Left a lasting impression. Vividly recall she & her family recounting her struggle with cancer. It seems as if her body is trying to tell her something.

On another site I saw she sent a video message to her fans. Maybe someone can post it here. She tries to remain positive & says it's a serious injury to her knee and will require surgery. You can see her wince as she mentions it's going to be trying physically and mentally.

She has a strong support system. Wishing her all the best in her recovery. Most importantly in life.

You ask and you shall receive.

The way she absolutely dominated Grasso and Carla are two of the best performances I've seen in WMMA.

For me it was the Joanna vs Carla fight and then the Joanna vs Penne fight. It felt especially good for me since I was on the Joanna Hype train before she even joined the UFC. After I watched her destroy Rosi Sexton and looked up her other fights I instantly thought that girl is special. Most people don't know that she was signed to Invicta back then but never actually got to fight for them. She was also media savvy enough to change her twitter since most Americans would never be able to spell her name.

Welsh history and mythology are a happy hunting ground for all kinds of outlandish theories but I'm not going to dismiss your crackpot ideas out of hand. Interestingly Ossetians have the second highest incidence of mitochondrial haplogroup J in the world (this is passed down via the maternal line) while the Welsh come in fourth. I'm sure there's a book in all of this and I'm ready to accept Avsaragova and Ffion (Dudieva too) as modern day representatives of an ancient line of Celtic Caucasian Amazons.

cut from the same cloth?

Incidentally this is how the Japanese imagined Britian in 1993: mountains, castles, landscape suffused with a mystic glow, and our fighting representative as a blonde chick with a (sorta) grappling style. An omen?

Said character was represented by a proud Welshwoman in live action form:

It's harder to get behind young McKenna of course.
What kind of beast would spurn this eager young thing?
