Official Women's Division Discussion #27

I had a feeling Invicta being on their new owners TV channel was too good to be true. Not a lot of people watched Invicta before and that will be cut considerably now. If it was the old Invicta with a ton of talent I could understand it. Those shows were amazing. With Invicta where it is now this is not the time for them to turn to PPV.

This isn't a surprise, they announced they were going to do tentpole PPVs in their buyout press release. I see them doing 1 PPV a quarter, but I think they should have waited until next year. 12 AXS TV cards + 4 Phoenix Tournament cards + 4 PPV cards = 20 total Invicta cards a year.

I really don't see Invicta selling many PPVs.
You might be right. But in the old days, their problem was that they sold so many that it kept crashing the PPV provider when they tried to serve that large of an audience, and so Invicta would have to refund all the money. I can't remember how many times that happened, but it was more than once. Going to Fight Pass was necessary to keep them alive, back then, because of that.

Those days were the peak time period for WMMA. WMMA has never been better and will probably never be better again. Every show was a banger. No safe fights. No point fighters. No lay and pray. No grinding against the cage the whole round. Every fighter going for it from start to finish. I miss those days.

What do you think happened? The Ronda hype disappeared?

I am super sad about Invicta PPV, that's it - no more Invicta for me then. And Invicta was the reason I started paying (extra, beyond my regular sports package that brings me UFC for free (cause i'd pay it anyway, for Premier League)) for MMA in the first place. There is absolutely no way I will start paying for "Fite TV" stuff, they probably don't even have a sensible website, let alone a smart tellyvision app.

If I had to find a single word for this? FUCK

And, even if they have a website or even an app that works, the name "Fite TV" is enough to skip the Invicta PPVs.

:(

The fite app is pretty good tbf

Honestly a but surprised to see this. Jindrova is super experienced on the feet, but is coming off a loss.

Strategic pic tho, Jindrova is not huge for 145, and she isn’t a monster in the clinch, it does give Shields an avenue to winning.
