Official Women's Division Discussion #27

Oktagon was unable to find opponent for Sormova, so fight is off.

I dont like the way Oktagon treats her, only short notices and TBA opponents. Last time they gave her 2 weeks short notice vs Wozniak, now they cant find opponent for her.....It cant be so hard to find someone who is willing to fight Sormova.

Sormova is still unable to find opponent, so she trying literally everything to find some...Hopefully it will workout and we will see 4 WMMA fights on OKTAGON 25.

Pudilova vs TBA
Sormova vs TBA
Chochlikova vs TBA
Waliczek vs Zouak

Wojcik is under contract to KSW I think so I doubt it'd be her.
Di Segni is booked for Venator in a couple of weeks.
Sylwia is also under KSW contract I think.

Maybe her shitty research into potential opponents is part of her problem lol.

Maybe her research is not so shitty as u think so. KSW have some kind of agreement with OKTAGON, and their fighters can fight for both promotions. For example Legierski is under contract with OKTAGON but is now fighting for KSW, same Barborík. OKTAGON for example had opportunity to have Materla on their card and some other big names from KSW, and we will see some in future...

Awesome article on an awesome fighter.... the picture at the top was taken by my friend, the one of her doing the takedown and sitting were taken by me.... I sent a bunch of video to ESPN of Brittney's fight camp, Can't wait to see what they use, and I'm super pumped for this fight!!

Wow, Elkins v. Shields is only a week away. Glad hearing Elkins recovered from the broken arm. Should be a lot of eyes on this fight.

Pleasant news for the UFC's Featherweight division, as Norma Dumont will continue to compete at that weight. She states that per UFC's request, she'll take fights at Featherweight and mentions Julija Stoliarenko as a possible future opponent.

Dumont is marketable, and she has looked improved since her loss to Megan (whom they should resign ASAP, before Bellator snatches her up). Give her Danyelle Wolf next, or as she said: Make a bantamweight that has missed weight, move up. Bring in Megan Anderson, Sarah Kaufman, Pam Sorenson, and you've got yourself a solid foundation to build the division. Also, Zarah Fairn vs Joselyn Edwards shouldn't happen, as one missed weight for bantamweight, and the other wanted to drop down to flyweight. Scratch that bout and let them compete in their natural weight classes.

Call me crazy but PFL has me kind of interested in some 145 matchups. The division is still trash when talking about talent level but if its matched up correctly it can have interesting fights. Interesting how Bellator has Cyborg but I have no interest in watching their 145ers. According to the ratings of her last fight this was a common feeling. UFC is not even really trying but PFL has kind of did an OK job with a trash division. I will def be watching to see shield most likely get beat and watching the Kayla vs Cindy card.

That's cool. OK job with the talent-level cards one has been dealt, is neat. I was really about UFC's 145 myself - as you said, they aren't even trying and it's not "real division", but i'll check out Nunes and whichever intersting 135ers might visit the division.

Not that anyone cares, I don't watch Bellator at all.

The PFL 155ers get you into 145ers that you're also saying you are not into.

Saturday picks:
Not sold on Lipski having any ability to stop a takedown and MDLR from controling most of the fight until a sub or bell.
Fiorot I assume will smash this girl based on what I've seen in this thread about ricci.

Burguesinha .....has to be the best Brazilian nick since Cowboyzinha got usadered.

Thought I'd be a contrarian and go with Ricci and Montana, but surprised to see DeLaRosa is a big favourite.
