Official Women's Division Discussion #25

I dont think they have much choice, its got the fork in the road with Paige now.

She has to either make that step up or not.. if they just start feeding her tuf girls on losing streaks nobody will buy into it.

im not sure wme are as on board with the Paige, Sage thing as Dana is/was. Promotion of both has been a lot less.. is Sage even still fighting?

I feel like Paige could be in even more demand for WME then she was for Dana... If she alternates wins and losses it'd be enough to keep her relevant. If Kuma smashes her now, that'd be two "unknown" fighters in a row that she'd have lost to. I can see the matchup happening down the line, but I think she'll get a much easier task for her next fight.

I guess we'll know in a few months.... it'll be interesting. Once they fill out 125 with the fighters that should be there, its going to be a fun division.

Didn't Paige's stock actually go up with the Rose-Clark loss, broken arm etc. Actually taking out some of the lower ranked tuf girls would be a good career move for her, but will any of them be still on the roster by the time she gets back.

If Angela Magana makes the Olympic team for Puerto Rico in
2020 her age would work against her do to the fact most of
the Olympic debutants are not 36 or 37 years old.

LOL she’s not going to make the Olympic team, and even if she did by some chance her age would be the least of her problems.

I posted the results of this fight and a few others several pages back but I figured posting the fight would interest some people too.

2-2 Kseniya Guseva vs. Elena Bagnyuk at Battle for Samara, Samara, Russia.

Speaking of the Olympics, gold medalist Kayla Harrison will make her MMA debut later this year

Rebecca Ruth vs. Juliana Velasquez announced for Bellator April 13

Watched the Hracho Breaux fight with Nina Ansaroff cornering, thought Kayla won. So my weekend viewing is solved, checking out these amateurs on YouTube.

At the end I thought Nina was gonna do a mic drop. :)

Looks like a win for Nguyen (I couldn't help myself there), but Cassie took a decent amount of time off from her last fight. Hopefully she used it to improve enough to make it a good fight.

Yeah, Killer Bi has had some tough losses in close fights. Hoping for a good one as well.

4-13 Rebecca Ruth vs. Juliana Velasquez at Bellator (125) at Bealltor.

About time Ruth gets another fight. Sucks she couldn't get a fight last year with the Colleen fight having fallen apart. Ruth isn't getting any younger. I had wanted the UFC to pick up Velasquez.

A fight from last year, from October. Tapology still needs to get this one listed.

So the UFC is actually making a 145 division now. I actually remember the name Leah Letson. She has to be at least decent for me to remember that name with all the new Invicta girls that have been popping up. Anyone got any good info on her?

Edit: Oh yea!! Now I know where I remember her from. She put on a very good performance against Liz Phillips. If I remember correctly it was a really impressive KO.

The ufc must see star potential in Yana to actually schedule a 145 pound fight not involving the belt

Lots of behind the scenes action for Kunitskaya before her debut was actually settled it seems

She's 10-3-1 in Invicta. She fought Tonya Evinger for the belt. Her victory was appealed by Evinger successfully & it was turned into a no contest. They fought again & Evinger won by rear naked choke. Evinger went on to fight Cyborg. Yana won her last fight via 5 round unanimous decision. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Yana-Kunitskaya-49412

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes even trying to speculate what's going on gets confusing lol.

Wait, Leah Letson wasn't fighting Cotton in some other promotion? Well, seems like not anymore.

I know that Leah Letson is actually a Bantamweight that has
gone up in weight so after fighting Yana she may pull a Tonya
Evinger and drop back down real quick.
