Official Women's Division Discussion #25

UFN 124 now has four women's fights with the addition of Taylor vs. Aldrich:

I'm pretty stoked for the matchups, to be honest. Aldrich, Aldana, Jessy.... :) And while Eye/Faria interest me the least, if Faria can force Jessica to something, anything, in the fight, it might be worth our time too.

Don't like Taylor so I'm hoping Aldrich wins... via robbery to make it worse. Make it a split decision after it looked like Taylor is the clear winner and have the scores be 29-28 Taylor and 30-27 x2 for Aldrich :D

Ha, I like your thinking :D But really, I think JJ has what it takes to win pretty definitely - afterall Moroz "outfought" Taylor, and Aldrich has good movement and distance control and actually does make attacks on the feet, so Taylor's style is probably not going to "impress" the judges enough for a win this time around.

While I like Cindy, let's just say I thought the stoppage was a little premature. Sure, she was hitting her while she had her wrapped up in a scarf hold, but those "shots" would barely knock the dust off of a butterfly's wings.

UFC must have forgotten about Aleksandra Albu who beat Curran in July.

They always seem to forget about her. You would think the UFC would push her a bit more. She seems to have the sort of assets everyone likes to get behind.

The female fight ls on the shaghai card were good and violent. The bigger Asian chick got smashed up by rentlessly purple hair. I couldn't believe how seemingly desperately active she looked. And not in a aesthetic or cooL way. Just desperate. Purple hair reminds me of GOAT Miesha Tate, but less polished.

The SW fight was :) Yan I think it was looks promising. I feeL like she coukd be top 5 at some point. SW is very stacked. UFC would be wise to give her favorable opponents in future so she can move up, although I think she will either way. Thqt said, Id like to see her fight waterson after another fight. The kicks she was doing make me envision their legs and thighs clashing in the ring. I think someone woukd get clipped bad qnd a glorious KO woukd occur.

Joanna bullying the Chinese while she was there. (I'm joking)

Dern has been looking noticeably leaner on her social media recently. She might be taking this cut to 115 a lot more serious than her past ones.

Working on some fight analysis, since I'm serious about starting a youtube channel. I noticed something during the Curran vs. Yan fight, and was reinforced watching this highlight:

Notice how several times, Yan used the low kick to the shin to open up her punches. It worked throughout the fight. Much different from how often you see the punches being used to open up the kicks.

Interview with Jinh Yu Frey ahead of her Road FC title challenge against Seo Hee Ham at Road FC 45: XX on Dec 23rd.

Holy crap. They were throwing down. What a fantastic effort by both. Curran certainly hasn't had too many easy fights. Maybe she will get another fight and not be cut. WAY more entertaining than many other fighters on the UFC roster. Maybe she could fight Moroz. It will be interesting to see where Yan goes from here. Ferocious fight!

With Shannon Knapp having zero tolerance for fighters
missing weight it is good that Mackenzie Dern is taking
her contractual obligations of 115 lbs serious this time.

Kinberly Novaes replaces Mizuki in the Invicta 26 Card. That's too bad!! :-(

I can say without doubt that the card for Invicta FC 26
is loaded with internationals do to 9 from outside of the
US including 6 Brazilians and only 5 American fighters.
Does anyone know what the record for internationals
on any given Invicta card is since the next event features
9.

Anyone ever been to a live Invicta event at that theater in Kansas City? It looks like a great way to watch fights, from the balcony looking down on the show.

I recall either one of the fighters, or maybe even TJ DeSantis saying the best view of the fights is from the first row of the balcony, because you look almost directly down into the cage, and if you can't see the action because of a certain angle, the big screen is right in your line of sight.

Same here, I think it was TJ. It's on my bucket list. Looks like a great venue to view a full card.
